Native to Sweden, the Manchester based artist Bobo has set out to free himself from the terrestrial bonds of earth and explore the ephemeral sounds of the outer atmosphere.  

Leaning into this stylistic predisposition, Contact takes characteristic elements from the worlds of dubstep, ambient, breaks, electro and techno to create bold, cinematic textures and otherworldly imagery.

With Moreno Ácido's latest EP, "Trash/Treasure," on Call To Action, the producer delves deep into the quirky and underground world of house music. Each track on the EP brings a unique flavor, with "Kissing Games" delivering a playful bassline and jagged synths, while "The Way You Make Me Feel" showcases Moreno Ácido's ability to blend unique atmospheres with a more stripped back sound. "100 Control" takes a more experimental approach with wonky sound design and unexpected filtered vox. Rounding out the EP, "Conundrums" offers a hypnotic blend of groovy rhythms and spacey synthwork. Glasgow’s infamous basement dwelling, La Cheetah, make good on their promise to bring you transmissions from the city and it’s surroundings by tapping Burroughs for the 5th outing on the clubs in-house imprint.

Never ones to rush things, the aptly named ’Strung Out’ was first passed to Outer Zone over 4 years ago, alongside ‘NREM’ and the EPs names sake ‘The Whole Damn Drift’. The tracks have seen multiple phases and iterations since, with the process baring 3 emotive tracks that rubber stamp the evidence of Burroughs lifelong dedication to his craft.

PREMIERE : Burroughs - Strung Out

Well, this one certainly won't be a very consensual release, but since we believe life shouldn't be taken too seriously, here it goes. Making its third release of 2023, Extended Records presents the Single “Parabéns Sara!” by Ângelo Selvagem!

The song originated from the idea of offering a birthday present to a friend: Sara (born 27 Nov. 1991). Contacting a mutual friend, who enjoys and knows how to sing (Marta), a musical partnership was proposed. Together they started to write loose stuff... Meanwhile, to a sample of a kizomba beat she added a 4 chord progression: Am7 – BbM7 – Bm7 – BbM7 with an electric piano, very common in the 80s, the DX7. To this were added some strings and a bass line, all from VST's. In the rap part, the drums switch to a more aggressive beat with half the tempo and the electric piano line and the strings are removed to make the harmonic part of the song less defined. The only instrument that was recorded was the voice. The song came about quite spontaneously as it was thought to be written and produced in just two days (that was the time they had left for Sara's return to Portugal).
The idea of the song would be that of a love letter written by Biscoito (Sara's cat) who, seeing himself abandoned by her, on the weekend of her birthday when the owner would have gone to Milan to be with her boyfriend (Capela), writes her a letter congratulating her, while confessing his feelings for her. Meanwhile, Estrelinha, interrupts and continues the said "letter" in rap mode...

The single here presented contains the original version, as well as a shorter version, edited for the highly unlikely eventuality of having some radio play, and is accompanied by 3 remixes by artists from the label: Diogo, Rabu Mazda and DJ Shperma.
