It was February 2021. Mortal time.
Antariksh Records had just released Radiant Energy EP by Madhav Jolly (Sentient). Over the next few mortal weeks, the interstellar airwaves were dominated by the Radiant Energy of rave and techno emerging from India, Earth. Sentient beings, spirits, and metaphysical ether - all immersed in the cosmic unity of rave. The sentient beings thus demanded seven worthy cosmic knights to unite After Midnight and recreate the sounds of rave, forged using mystical acid and jungle wizardry. Thus unleashing upon this gross materiality, the tunes of dance, the churning electro hum of the seven elements, the rave falling upon mortal ears from the heavens of electronic music.

To switch it up a little from the usual, we’re moving away from our recent UKG mixes this week to bring a wild genre mashup from the man like @nova_cheq 🔥 

Nova Cheq has come through with a heavy 100 - 130 mix that moves through multiple sonics and levels of energy. The selections move from industrial to grime, to dancehall and funky. Plus with a few wild cards throw into the bag, this one is unlike anything we’ve dropped before. As always with SOLITUDE mixes, there’s a few unreleased tunes here. This time from @djspit.to’s label @rascals_030. Expect these tracks to get pressed with @hardwax_official as well. Mark of quality each and every time. 

He’s an artist who resides in the more hardcore side of the scene, capable of brewing up proper party fuel. Legit his sets are always fuckin wild. Not often for the faint hearted, his music transcends most style brackets and is often a representation of his musical influences over the years, with nods to the original 90’s rave scene, jungle, breaks and techno.

Deffo check his release that just dropped on @sherelle_ & @naina_ldn’s label @hooversoundrec. It’s a combined force with @samurai_breaks. Five outrageously good pieces of work referred to as “Pure Party Fuel, Ghetto House Styled Jungle-Juke Pounders” - these one will smash up the dance 100% 

He’s also had a solo release on Hoover Sound that dropped in May last year. Absolutely worth checking, 5 more stompers with the title track FUK.GOV.UK doing what it says on the tin in hard dance party music format 🔥

Stepping up for Gimme A Break’s second original EP is multi-genre DJ and producer, Scart Lead, originally from the North West and now based in London. Through his releases on Subtle Records, Outhouse Sounds, LDH Records and Slippery Sounds, Scart Lead has revealed the strong influence of oldskool rave and hip-hop on his production style. Following a melancholic and moody UKG opener, the sinister mood of Scart Lead’s ‘Wheelin N’ Dealin'’ EP builds through vicious breakbeats and a dubstep-influenced finale. GAB would like to say an enormous thank you to Alex Kubis for coming through with this unbelievable artwork reflecting Scart Lead’s passion for 90s rave art.
