LBR Records shows off the talent of its roster with a five-track various artists compilation that brims with electro and techno brilliance.

Opening up the EP is Mantra Mantra boss and Hamburg native 11Schnull. He has released on Jensen Interceptor's International Chrome and Planetaria and has been immersed in music for 25 years. His 'Whistles of Weezy' is a turbo-charged techno cut. Rave energy, serrated synths and rock-solid kick drums twist and turn with real angst and are sure to blow up the club.

York Hamza & Daao hail from Yerevan and Armenia respectively. The former runs the Mulraum events series and searches for utopian mysticism in his music. The latter grew up around jazz mixtapes and brings that sensibility to his sounds. Their visceral '53DUC710N' features warp speed drum programming that voyages to the stars. The serene pads add to the futuristic feel of this most perfect electro-techno fusion. Copenhagen's Rasmotron has DJed as Inspectah Scratch since 1994. He has a ghetto tech sound and was the first Detroit-style booty DJ in Europe. During the lockdown, he started his new Rasmotron alias. 'M32' is perfectly dark and dystopian. The hits slap hard, the bass booms so much it will rattle walls, and the caustic synths add tension next to the unsettling sounds of a baby crying.

Cyan85 hails from Eastern Germany and brings diversity to the electro scene. His sound drifts effortlessly from soulful and warm sun-drenched anthems through to in-the-red robotic slammers, which is the case here. The brilliant 'Bass In My Mind' is another full-flavour electro track that is both emotive and physical. It has bristling breakbeats, long-tailed pads and a cosmic feel that takes you to another world entirely. sin:it:sin started his musical journey as a drummer in a rock band but has since made numerous styles of music. Now he has honed in on a unique mix of IDM, electro and techno. His 'How To Be Old' has the most thoughtful atmosphere of the EP thanks to the meaningful chords and wistful leads, whilst powerful drum work and warped acid ensure the energy stays high.

We like to present to you our new release with a selection of day one friends. The 12” starts with the euphoric rave anthem “Members of Warning 2021” by Giraffi Dog & Erik Jäähalli. A track title some of you might recognize which will bring peace and harmony to It’s followed by the heartwarming Hip Hop cut “Shout Outs” which is dedicated to da family and our sweet raver posse. The B side hits different as Henry 3000 is a G when it comes to baba Electro bombs while DJ Hummer understands to cool it down in trancy Westcoast Funk manner. A well balanced pack of diverse tunes wrapped once again in beautiful design by Guillaume de Ubeda.

'Kid Wizard Gate' coincidently has a very funny backstory. It's basic idea was written at the former Doom Chakra Studio. The studio was based below the second edition of the famous Record Loft recordstore. The track is a collaboration between DJ Hummer, who's also part of Giraffi Dog and myself, Henry3000 aka Phyzikal Flex. Together, alongside the absolute overlord and mystical boss himself, DJ Deflektorschild aka Donnie Dolphin aka countless other monikers we run the infamous Doom Chakra Tapes label. 

Hummer and I were jamming in the studio. We programmed some 808 beats on the beloved Novation Drumstation and Hummer came up with the low bassline which was played on the Juno 106. To compliment the line I played the bleepy midrangey figure on the Prophet. In the beginning the track was rather sparse and the actual layout wasn't continued for a while. Later on we picked it up and added more and more harmonic elements and it turned out to be what it is today. The arpeggio came from the 106, the pads and leads are mostly from a Korg Poly 61. The Poly 61 bits are responsible for the spacey feel and are really the great icing on the cake.

We came up with the title because a friend (who shall remain nameless here) was extremely convinced that we've ripped the bassline from a Eric & Rakim track. Whilst in retrospective the note intervals may be similar, still the rhythmic pattern is very different. Also the other musical elements we've added are totally on a whole other planet. We've had a heated argument over that topic but the friend didn't change his opinion even a dozen didn't hear the similarity he heard. We even had a rap-style beef going on which was fought by mocking each other's tracks. Therefore the track jokingly received the working title "The Rakim Gate". Kid Wizard was the former name of Rakim so we chose that instead as it's less obvious.
