The city was cold at night, the wind howled as he huddled in the doorway. He watched and waited.

People came and went, they weren’t right. Only someone special might be able to appreciate and understand the importance of five light point.

Bristol record label SSS releases three tracks of weird, mutant, abstract Bass music. Wobbly textures and off piste drums reinforce what is a wonky ride through deconstructed dance music.

Coming off of two quirky techno jams on the B-side of Ethereal Beatbox’s first Split EP and a reflective EP on Pastel Voids as Terrance, S.Knoll is back with a tidy concept EP, Pulaski At Night / Warehouse Sunrise. This introductory release on Return Stock offers up two introspective pieces. Pulaski at Night is a rain soaked saunter through bleary pads, pillowy basslines, and contemplative melodies recalling the artist’s view of the street from their front window. Playful samples and dizzy synths open the second track, Warehouse Sunrise, paying homage to the sweaty basements and vivid mornings that follow. Put it on next time the slight melancholy sets in while the sun rises over the city skyline.
 
Return Stock is an imprint for one-offs, misfits, alternate versions, b-sides, remixes, fix-ups, etc.
A concept imprint from the co-founder of Ethereal Beatbox, S.Knoll, the label offers a home for those tracks that don’t seem to fit anywhere else in an artist’s discography. Nothing is off limits: weird VIPs, sound explorations, rhythmic studies, old tunes that still bang. We’ll take it all, press the artist a dubplate, and ask the world to listen.
