This tune has been doing the rounds on Youtube for quite some time now, but does something really exist unless it’s on Soundcloud? The answer is likely yes of course - but as a predominantly Soundcloud based channel, we don’t want to believe it. 

An aptly named track this one, Saudade - derived from the Portuguese, means a deep nostalgic longing for something likely never to return. Perfectly summed up by gentle guitars, talkative percussion and a delicate ebbing and flowing structure. Take a moment to reflect on what’s been and gone, sentimentality isn’t over rated - and take comfort in the fact that it’s likely that someone else is listening to this track, through another screen, another pair of headphones or speakers. You know each other so well but have never met; all as that same sample washes over and over, bliss.

Young Swiss based producer, ROLFEE, follows with a take on afrobeat legend, Fela Kuti's "Shakara", which makes for a deep and spiritual afro-house edit. Treb adds to the afro sound of this third EP, with a fast-paced and Ghanaian sampled piece - "Konadu". The feeling intensifies as you'll hear the euphoric call of Etur Usheo's soulful and heavy-banging disco "Love Me". As the party comes to an end, the question "Is It Daylight ?" might come to mind. And so with the final track of this EP, Just Baker successfully brings closure to the groove."

Lyon beatsmith Saint Paul made an impressive full debut in 2017 with his Introspection EP on Moonrise Hill Material (which he co-runs with his boys Folamour, Ethyène and Kaffe Crème). After tasty contributions to V/As on the likes of Apparel Wax and FHUO, the Frenchman is back with another solo record on DC’s Better Listen Records.

The Naturist Behavior EP is a tastefully balanced, warm-weather oriented four tracker. The title track and the A2, “A Hawaiian Trip”, explore playful and jazzy territories. Meanwhile, the flip hosts moodier ventures via the bittersweet boogie of “Tell Me” and the ice cold late night jam, “Feels Good”.

'Pollock Street Blues’ Completing the EP is this reflective, Trumpet based ouvre. A spoken word backing track sits underneath glowing Rhodes chords, perky congas and heartwarming synth strings. The star of this track is of course the lofty Trumpet solo echoing throughout the composition.
