Armed with a Soviet Union reel to reel Majak 203, his scorching raw analogue and searing acid productions have been picked up by foundational Detroit labels such as Twilight 76, Matrix, Detroit Underground, Databass, Detroit Techno Militia, Cratesavers Intl, Visillusion as well as around the world from Holland's iconic M>O>S Recordings to Lobster Theremin, Chiwax, 1Ø Pills Mate, Bass Agenda, Land Of Dance and more. For the third edition of Earthcast, we're honored to welcome a true pioneer of the underground electronic scene: Scott Braithwaite, founder of the influential 90s label Fragmented Records. With a career spanning decades, Scott has been instrumental in shaping the deeper realms of house and techno, both as a DJ and as an A&R visionary.

Fragmented Records, established in the mid-90s, became a cornerstone for deep and forward-thinking electronic music, releasing works from artists like Dan Curtin, Morgan Geist, Jay Denham, Chris Gray, Paul Mac, and Jaime Read. Beyond his label, Scott collaborated with Craig Walsh under the alias The Cause and curated seminal compilations such as Techno Nations, Deep States, and Elements of Jazz, featuring legends like Juan Atkins, Dave Angel, and Drexciya.

Although he's no longer DJing full-time, Scott continues to share his passion through guest mixes and radio appearances. His extensive vinyl collection, amassed since the mid-80s, reflects his deep-rooted love for house, techno, and electro.

In this exclusive Earthbound mix, Scott delivers a fast-paced journey through deep Detroit and UK techno, nodding to the 90s while casting an eye toward the future. Expect a masterclass in groove, rhythm, and timeless energy. @scott-braithwaite

More soup from Scott Braithwaite.   At a memorable all back to mine from FARR festival (some years ago) Scott Jumped on the decks and immersed himself in my dub techno records. It was soon apparent to me that he had a great affection for the genre and so a natural selection for this series. Volume V is laid down from his own, vast collection of deep and tasteful records!

Dubbed by Igloo Magazine as the “Romanian Detroit electro/techno pioneer” and by the late Aaron Carl as “the Romanian Underground Resistance himself”, Andrew Red Hand from Romania’s spiritual capital of Iași stands up as an unwavering militant of the underground!

From his early gigs throwing parties as one of the first generation DJs in Iași since 1997, Andrew Red Hand continues to break boundaries as part of the Romanian resistance scene and numerous time portals as they open around Europe. His blistering, mind-bending sets such as at Berlin’s Tresor, Griessmuehle or Krake Festival see the DJ with the red hand fuse the pure electro sound with techno, acid, EBM, industrial, classics and futuristic beats. His mixes for Radio UR (Underground Resistance), The Grid (Detroit Techno Militia), Groove Magazin or Trax Magazine remain some of the best frequency transmissions to surface to air.

Armed with a Soviet Union reel to reel Majak 203, his scorching raw analogue and searing acid electro or techno productions have been picked up by foundational Detroit labels such as Twilight 76, Matrix, Detroit Underground, Databass, Detroit Techno Militia, Cratesavers Intl, Visillusion as well as around the world from Holland's iconic M>O>S Recordings to Lobster Theremin, Chiwax, 1Ø Pills Mate, Rotterdam Electronix, Shipwrec, Diffuse Reality, Bass Agenda, Land Of Dance and more. 

ARH's music has been picked up by various media outlets including DJ Mag, Mixmag, Groove Magazine, Resident Advisor, Trax, Inverted Audio, The Ransom Note.

His remix list includes work for Detroit legends like Scan 7, Santonio Echols, Thomas Barnett, Sean Deason, Niko Marks, Six Foe, T.Linder, or German legends Hardfloor and more, while support from Dave Clarke, Andrew Weatherall or DJ Godfather has been garnered for our sonic warrior… Beware of the Red Hand!
