Incredibly this is already D'Marc Cantu’s third EP of the year following efforts on new label One Electronica and Ansatz. Of course, he has released on MOS many times before, including 2012’s full length A New World. This new EP, Long Weekend, features three new tracks of fully formed house and techno with more than a touch of acid along the way. 

The title track opens the EP with a lively house jam that has proud kick drums, plenty of muffled and deeply buried chords and a busy bassline that darts about like a kangaroo on hot rocks. It’s propulsive and emotive as it surges along, taking you with it every step of the way. Next up, ‘1Lb Of Flesh’ is a much more jagged and serrated track, mainly because of the manic acid squiggle that runs right through the heart of the slapping snares and icy cold hi hats. Full throttle and as ever delightfully frayed and analogue sounding, it’s a real face melter. Last but by no means least, ‘Acid Test’ is the quickest of the lot, coming over like a slick, powerful fusion of electro and techno that whips and snaps as Dance Mania style snares flap about above a grilling bassline and acid wiggles in and out. It’s a busy, fulsome track but never feels cluttered and rounds out another exceptional EP from both MOS and main man D'Marc Cantu.

Next up to join the MOS Deep cannon is Stephen Lopkin, who serves up four new cuts on his The Haggis Trap EP. Lopkin is still something of an emerging talent having only started releasing in the last couple of years. The Glasgow based producer operates in the worlds of house and techno with a unique futuristic perspective.

The title track is a surging, musically rich techno track that is supple, shiny and spine tingling. Raw percussion and pixelated melodies warp around each other as widescreen synths smear in all directions in the distance. 'Catherine's Track' is a bristling brew of sheet metal hi hats, gurgling basslines and emotive chords that adds a modern perspective to an old school Detroit techno sound. 

First up on the flip side is 'Let's All Talk About Me', a more jacking, prickly affair with pinging analogue drums, incessant hi hat lines and spangled melodies that quickly ride up and down the scale, taking you with them at every step. It's a track that really fires your every synapse before closer 'Mugs Alley' again marries a keen sense of techno melody with crisp, propulsive percussion and firmly rooted drums. 

Combining elements of all the techno greats from Juan Atkins to Derrick May, this is an EP that surely announces the arrival proper of a very real new talent.

Does the world needs more acid? Yes it does! the R-A-G trio aka Dutch producers Ma Spaventi, G-String & Aroy Dee deliver three raw acid-jams with Aroy on the couch working the mic. The lyrics of Dreadfully Nervous are based on a Edgar Allan Poe story.

'Dreadfully Nervous (Aryd's Acid Mix)' is a gurgling brew of squelchy acid with dark vocals and pinging cowbells pulling you in all directions. Coarse claps and ever more wild synths encourage you to cut loose and make for another timeless cut. 'Dreadfully Stoned' is more stripped back, with a rubbery arpeggiated synth the main hook over subtle, supple drums. Those dark spoken word vocals are back again and the whole thing is freaky and unsettling as a result. Last of all is the bright and glistening 'No Soul' with metal hits and claps and prickly acid all bursting out of dusty Chicago drums. It's raw and sure to fire the synapses just like R-A-G productions always do.

Dutch underground acid-techno act Random XS strikes again with two rugged and authentic dance floor rockers. After a long awaited re-release of their Djax-Up-Beats classic 'Give Your Body' last year on Delsin, they return with a pair of fresh and unheard acid jams on the closely related MOS Recordings. Both tracks recorded in the early '90s, but only recently finalized and improved for heavy club impact. It's an EP full with gurgling 303 grooves and raw energy in the traditional and energetic Random XS way.

For COS_MOS's next trick they serve up a special 12” that features a brand new single from M>O>S super group R-A-G, also known as MaSpaventi, Aroy Dee and G-String. It comes backed with a re-release of one of the key tracks of the previously released Crystal Maze album on aDepth Audio. A fierce and full 45rpm re-cut of 'Dr Claw' that has been a secret weapon of Aroy Dee for many years. 

It's a raw cosmic adventure, with warm solar winds blowing over prickly drums. Twisted bass and knotted pads wrap round the groove as a detuned lead synth heads into a Legowelt-ish future. 'Larry Venom', stirs things up with a deconstructed, off kilter mix of beeps and drones with marching drums adding to the feeling that this is a robot party in meltdown. This is a brilliantly left of centre EP of intergalactic house.
