Exploited presents the Hamburg duo ADANA TWINS - consisting of Take it Easy, the energizer and Freezo, the straight and fluffy guy - who were brought together by the power of good turkish food and the love for grooving house music. Last year they were responsible for one of the biggest tunes on Exploited in 2011: "JUICY FRUIT" - a slo-mo housed-up boogie-soul joint that was appreciated by a variety of DJs like Axel Boman, Round Table Knights, Solomun, A-Trak and many more. Now, Adana Twins are back with another hit: EVERYDAY is an updated version of a New Jack Swing Classic which has been getting a lot of support by SOLOMUN recently. Not to forget, the bonus track STRANGE: a secret weapon for the early morning hours.

It's been a while since I uploaded my last track so I made this beat to fill the gap!

Nightwind

I went pretty minimal on this one, no hi-hats, and pretty much no drums actually, just a kick and much later into the track a snare comes in.....There was something about the simple repetitive 2 note melody hits and chords I landed on that just seemed to work without needing anything much else, well hopefully it works for other people too and not just me. It's been going down really well in the clubs at least, it seems to make people clap for some reason, maybe because it's so simple and kick focused rhythmically, it's got a bit of a marching stomp feel.

I stripped out most of the parts from the original, and focused on the great pads and vocal sweeps, which seemed to lead to the melodic idea somehow. It was one of those remixes which flowed nice and easily, not too much conscious thought required, I just let it flow out.

“I had this idea to make a video for ‘A Case For Shame’ which actually ended up informing the entire visual scheme of Innocents. In the video, someone dies – maybe they killed themselves out of a sense of shame – and they enter this other world, populated by these ghost creatures wearing masks. They look scary, but they’re actually covering their face because they’re ashamed. When you see someone wearing a scary mask, the first thought is, “What’s going on? That’s intimidating.” But they’re actually hiding – it’s the most blatant act of concealing oneself. ‘A Case For Shame” is one of two songs I collaborated on with Cold Specks. She’s quite shy, and preferred to be left alone in the studio, so I’d hit ‘record,’ go have some tea, then come back in and press ‘stop.’”
