"mote. - Dust Particle (IDM/Downbeat/Chill) Darren Smith has been a composer, and performer of electronic music for the past 7 years. Under the project Reality Pixie, Darren has been a regular fixture on the Australian party circuit. In 2006 Reality Pixie was signed to Australian label, Gi'iwa Productions and in 2007 was signed to the Russian label Vertigo records. Having earned a reputation for creating emotional, melodic psychedelic trance, Darren has performed all over Australia: at festivals such as Rainbow Serpent, Tribeadelic, Earth Frequency, and Cairns Eclipse 2012. In 2008/9 Darren performed internationally with shows in Russia, Ukraine, Finland and Thailand: with the highlight being Khan Altay Solar Eclipse Festival. In recent years Darren has taken a step back from the world of dancefloor music to focus on his new downtempo electronic music project 'mote.'; a collage of ambient, glitchy breakbeats, melancholy melodies, ethnic vibrations and orchestral oscillations. In 2012 saw the debut ep by mote. entitled Dust Particle, an independent release on Ektoplazm which received 6000+ downloads.
