We welcome an artist debut to Rhythm Distrikt this summer, with non-other than the legend of the underground and prolific Techno experimentalist, Michael Wells a.k.a. G.T.O., who delivers his first release for the label, the 'Funk it!' EP. Having recorded as Tricky Disco for Warp Records, as G.T.O. for Mute and React, he is also behind the million selling hardcore act Technohead whose single "I Wanna be a Hippy" was number one in several countries. Michael has produced under the guises of Church of Extacy, John & Julie, Signs of Chaos, S.O.L.O. and is also one half of the pioneering Industrial electronic group Greater Than One, recording two albums for the legendary Chicago label Wax Trax. He has been in the UK top 40 under 3 different aliases with his music featuring in films, documentaries and television. His brand new 'Funk it!' EP takes no prisoners, offering two hard-hitting tracks that showcase funk-fueled rhythms, intense synth patterns, jacking percussion, hypnotic drums, commanding basslines and moody atmospherics, delivering the warehouse Techno sounds of the true underground that Rhythm Distrikt is famed for.
