I see so many connections to hayloft in this song (even though I’m unsure which song came first)) I personally believe this song is about the boy in hayloft. He was shot in the heart by the girl’s father and even though she tried to warn him about her father he didn’t listen and probably died directly in her arms. “Suicide in your arms tonight” to relate to him knowing the dangers of being with this girl but still taking the risk, causing his life to be taken.
