We've been tight with Peckham collective and record label Rhythm Section for a long time now, and catching wind of a new release is always a very big deal. Aukland-born and Peckham-based duo Chaos in the CBD have been on our radar for a minute. You'll probably know these two as the hands behind their seminal debut Midnight in Peckham, released last year. Their new release, Invisible Spectrum, doesn't disappoint. Our favourite of the tracks, "Significant Others" brings the EP to its peak with heavy jazz influences, a bongo beat and serious dance capabilities. Get ready to be wrapped up in the kind of groove that makes you forget all the bad stuff.

The Invisible Spectrum is released on 9th September.

On the flipside they join forces with Chicago’s Lee Pearson Jnr (known for his writing for Larry Heard), K. LaDawn on vocals and rising star Joe Armon-Jones on keys. We were very surprised at Versatile when we received this file from Flocofloco2020@gmail.com. And we still have very little info on the track that was there. “On m’a dit…” by Floco Floco is a lofi afro-disco stomper hailing straight from the new ghettos created by confinement. Something had to give and we are glad that Floco Floco, whoever he is, has chosen us to ease his lock down mind:

“I’ve been told to stay at home, on WhatsApp all day long, working in the studio, reading books I haven’t read, I hope it won’t be too long, I don’t know if I can hold, smoking weed day & night, like never I have been before”

Martin Jenkins, more commonly known as the artist Pye Corner Audio, epitomizes Lapsus' commitment to cutting edge sound experimentation. In 2017, he beguiled the electronic music community by releasing the 'Where Things Are Hollow' EP, on Lapsus Records. Now we are delighted to announce the release of ‘Where Things Are Hollow 2’, consisting of three brand new original cuts and a breath-taking remix from none other than John Talabot.

'Where Things Are Hollow 2' explores a spectral and hypnagogic terrain, establishing an electronic sound that at times invokes Jenkins’ more dance friendly facet -'Self Synchronize', 'Weather The Storm'– while also offering his familiar iridescent dreamlike ambient textures –'Phase B'– that featured prominently on his first EP.

This second EP also includes a remix from John Talabot, unquestionably one of Spain’s most internationally recognised names over the last decade, who exquisitely reimagines 'Resist' -a song from the first EP-, transforming it into a cross between EBM and hypnotic techno.

From a graphic design perspective, renowned artists Alex Trochut and Basora have once again collaborated on this project, repeating the formula that made the artwork for "Where Things Are Hollow" such a collector's item.
