I’ve been hearing about this Vancouver Island festival for years from some of my favourite people.  One of B.C.’s most beautiful beaches, well curated diverse lineup focussing on Island Talent, while pulling some big names.  I missed the deadline to apply last year, and wanted to be sure to come on strong this year.  I mixed this one time in my studio based on a closing slot I performed at Kwench’s Halloween Jam a week previous.   It was a sweaty mess and I figured it would be a strong demo. We're pleased to present the live recording of Winnipeg's legendary Bambz from our Proper Bassline night on January 17, 2025 at Side Stage.

Back in the late 90's/early 2000's, Bambz was one of Winnipeg's favorite DJ's and a speed garage master. He also founded and ran NYCE Records, the city's best dance music record store, which was hugely responsible for not only shaping Winnipeg DJ's musical taste, but the taste of the underground music scene overall. 

Having Bambz come out of retirement for this event was a real treat, we hope you enjoy this set as much as we did.
