Nicole, 63 ans, est une des rares femmes pêcheuse de crevettes à Dunkerque. Ancienne ouvrière du textile et mère de six enfants, elle trouve dans cette pratique réservée aux hommes une échappatoire, un moment de paix. L'eau soigne son corps abîmé par le travail en usine, les maternités et le travail domestique. Nicole est aussi championne du monde de décorticage de crevettes ! Elle raconte qu'elle a pu gagner 10 fois ce concours grâce au travail en usine, qui lui a fait exercer sa rapidité et sa dextérité. Les médias soudain parlent d'elle. Nicole se voit reconnue hors du cercle domestique. Une récompense ? Une revanche ? Un plaisir ?

If a young Valtteri Bottas and his dad hadn't spotted the sign for a go-kart race in Finland, then the Alfa Romeo driver may never have got on track, let alone partnered Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes.

In the latest podcast from our My big break series, Bottas joins Chris Medland to reveal the make-or-break moments that brought him to Formula 1. He explains the key role that porridge power played ahead of his go kart debut, the local sponsors that bankrolled his fresh tyres, and the tests that took him from the Finnish go-karting championship to an F1 seat with Williams — via a rocky GP3 season. 

When Nico Rosberg retired from F1, Bottas moved from to Mercedes — and he suggests that he used his own money to buy out the Williams contract — only to be handed the Herculean task of being team-mate to Hamilton. Bottas describes how it took its toll, and reveals that he was on the brink of quitting at the end of the 2018 season before a restorative walk in a Finnish forest saw him change his mind.

Now at Alfa Romeo, Bottas talks of the hope that he can win again with the team. "I don't see a limit," he says. "I'm absolutely loving F1."

Why don’t we understand how the female orgasm works? After years of scientific research, the male body is understood but when it comes to how women work, we are a long way behind. Why is there this gap in knowledge? 



It appears research has been hindered by the assumption that the female body works in the same way as the male body and that for women, arousal is all in the mind. There’s also a general attitude that studying sexual pleasure isn’t important and that female orgasms aren’t important to study as they serve no purpose for reproduction.



Researchers are slowly correcting these assumptions and making surprising discoveries.



We’ll take you behind the scenes to two orgasm labs to bring you the latest research on how orgasms work for women. We’ll also hear from Callista, who struggled with excruciating pain during sex for many years but was told the problem was all in her mind. Her journey to diagnosis shows how little is known, even amongst gynaecologists and doctors, about female sexual pleasure.
