Insolate’s Out Of Place Records has been on a roll as of late, featuring standout EPs from newcomers to the techno scene, Teo Harouda & Bruno Caro. In previous years, the label showcased standout music from artists such as Annē, Rove Ranger, Kashpitzky, and SERA J, all of whom have gone on to achieve great success following their releases via OOP.

This compilation boasts six tracks, each a testament to the label's commitment to pushing the boundaries of sound. Furthering the roster of Scottish based talent, the anonymous VØIDIST joins the Soma ranks as the Glasgow based producer drops a furious and fast paced debut with the Spirit EP. Displaying excellent production prowess, this fledging artist delves headfirst into high end sonic destruction. 

Title track Spirit kicks things off at break neck speed and remains a perfect, dark and driving opener, punctuated by evolving, rhythmic synth tones. Grind pushes forward with a more atmospheric tone from the outset; mesmerising components sit atop syncopated percussion and ruff acidic bass. Sleeper continues on the hypnotic approach as polyrhythmic elements build gradually backed by thunderous drum workouts. Enigma closes out the EP with a distinct EBM influence as drilling synths bore deep, driven by straight up and direct percussion.
