Techno deviant Michael Klein returns with a six-track EP entitled You. The pulsating beats comprise three original cuts from Klein, while each one has a remix from artists who instil their imprint and interpretation on the music. Released under the Arkham Audio label, which Cri du Coeur heads, it will be the tenth edition in the Arkio series.

Frankfort native Klein is known for delivering club chuggers that keep feet stomping into the depths of the night. Opening track ‚You‘ is no exception: palpitating basslines, wavering beeps, and an acid-tinged body add certain velocity. With steamy stabs, hard-hitting claps, and running snares make the number a club burner.

The remix by Portuguese producer Temudo takes the driving elements and supercharges them. He accentuates the metallic hits and gives the track more of an electrical bounce.

The second original number by Klein is ‚Red‘. It is possibly named due to its high intensity and probability of putting things into the red. It has oscillating sci-fi bleeps shot forward by a heavy kick drum, valve releases, and icy hats.

The U.S born but Berlin-based artist Dustin Zahn remixes ‚Red‘. He smooths the edges of the cut with a contagious rhythm. The primal bouncing percussions are hipshaking and heart-racing, while he uses the vocal elements to enhance the flow.

Finally is ‚105‘, which is a hard-hitting techno bomb. With tricky snares, alarm like stabs and seductive builds, it will have dance floors erupting.

The remix by Cri du Coeur and Erratum is a much more punchy affair. It emphasises the claps in the beginning before introducing a devious synth. Like all the tracks on the EP, it‘s made for extensive sound systems.

David Castellani returns to his Noetic imprint with vigorous 2 tracker, ‘Tweaker Dearest’.

LA based label Noetic continues to flourish with yet another EP from its founder, David Castellani. LA based by way of Italy, the modular synthesist has gradually moulded the techno-forward label with instalments of his work, ranging from ambient and electro to the driving techno presented in the likes of newest EP, ‘Tweaker Dearest’.

In standard Castellani style, he builds anticipation and teases listeners with a retractive build-up in title track ‘Tweaker Dearest’. Rippling keys are driven forward by a strident kick in a hypnotic loop while an airy underlying synth floats gradually into the mix. Chirping percussion flickers over the main groove, with the addition of ascending keys that exhibit the subtle electro elements in David’s productions. Ravey acid stabs are tied in at the mid-way point, injecting immense energy to this infectious cut.

Up next is ‘Tweaker Dearest Stab Tool’. Taking the foundations of its predecessor, Castellani lets the electro twinged keys come to the forefront here, with a subtle build-up loop and driving element that creates the perfect dancefloor tool.

The EP comes hot on the heels of David’s latest release, the diverse 7 tracker ‘Phrenesis’. Picking up support from industry heavies including Chris Liebing, Dave Clarke, Charlotte de Witte and DJ Bone, it’s no doubt that ‘Tweaker Dearest’ and Noetic’s subsequent releases will garner equal acclaim.

Mild Fantasy is a new label from New York and its owner Elle Dee inaugurated the first EP with original tracks and collaborations with False Witness.

With an ear for darker sounds, the newest release is from Bazilian Projekt Gestalten who has released music on voxnox, KONFLKT and Advanced (Black), but is also a resident at Berlin’s Pornceptual club nights that has seen guests such as DVS1 and Freddy K.

The Lady Machine runs the up and coming Unterwegs imprint alongside Decka and for this DT:Premiere we selected her remix of “Wise People In Reverse” that has an industrial edge and stomping beat. Modular sparks and stabbing chords are met with deep metallic hits and an overall menacing feel that has been crafted for delivering dance floor devastation.

b.mod has been on spirited form of late and this release sees him continue to forge his own sound through the medium of machines. Raw Uluz, Revolution & Shuttle don their own unique properties but remain with that singular tough, raw and hypnotic b.mod sound.

With an already mighty discography, Ike Dusk drops a tripped out, stripped back and ominous version of Revolution. Rising star E.L.I.A.S completes the package in fine form as a crunching, tweekin’ rework of Shuttle closes the EP with some high energy.
