Excellent high impact techno from Amsterdam, where Italian
producer Francesco Rosati found his home. After releases on
labels like Absolute, Sungate and Voltage, the 'Encounter' EP is
his debut release for the NOWHERE series on Something
Happening, Somewhere (SoHaSo).
Rosati calls his new EP a statement to his stylistic musical
output. He uses a hybrid setup of vintage analog machines and
digital devices. For Encounter he wanted to grab the spirit of the
moment. All five tracks were recorded directly in a single take,
capturing pure energy.
It is probably the most pure techno release SoHaSo has done in
a while. Opener Stabber alone is pure energy, with its roling
Reese-like baselines, mesmerizing hi-hats and hypnotizing
loops. The whole EP is a respectful nod to Detroit masters like
Robert Hood and Jeff Mills while it also winks back to the
menacing UK techno sound of the 90s. Or like Rosati says on his
Soundcloud: "Future is the door - past is the key."

Monotone routine in the backstage blabber, willingness to change, escape the mindset loop, planting fresh seeds and harvesting the new sound. This could be a perfect episode names for the brand new series called Phase Line. But this is just a one sentence story, how the debut EP of the resident of the freshest techno club „Elastica“ in Vilnius was born. The EP is accomplished by the remixes of the most close and influential comrades Alex Krell, Deranged and Y2kati aka Jaroška.

About Phase Line

Meet Phase Line, Lithuania's techno newcomer. Inspired by the pulsating sounds of Lizdas, Kablys and Opium clubs, he kicked off his DJ career in 2019 with borrowed equipment and a burning curiosity. Joining local party and promotion community “Orkaite” led him into production, and his debut track found a spot on their first compilation. Now he is a beloved resident DJ of the freshest techno club Elastica in Vilnius and was performing at events involving names such as 999999999, Dax J, SNTS, Kobosil, CLTX, Sina XX to name a few. While rooted in techno, Phase Line thrives on surprising his audience, refusing to be bound by a single genre.
