Florine Mougel et Carlos Bernal Barrera, cherchent à mettre l'ambiance en improvisant des atmosphères sonores denses et très peu rythmées. Quelque part entre drone metal et power electronics, le duo s'attache surtout à modeler des textures bruitistes abrasives et détaillées.

À brûle-pourpoint II (2022, 20min) originated from a desire to improvise on the sonic gesture of friction-granulation combining electronic sounds and field recordings. Fast triggering and spatialising sound objects, Florine Mougel creates a close landscape of incandescent particles that evokes a state of restlessness.

The piece draws a mental landscape, in two parts, inspired by Raymond Queneau ́s omniscient narrator in "Pierrot mon ami". Electronic sounds, and then natural ones, form a fog of precise 
elements. The carelessness and the lightness of an idle thought go along with a heavy awkwardness. From the writer's style, changes of scale, fundamental contradictions, and a certain playfulness, found a sound transposition. "Leaning comfortably on his elbows, Pierrot was thinking of the death of Louis XVI"....

This short acousmatic poem is based on Raymond Queneau´s “La Pendule”. It gathers music, language and meaning as one entity, so that, the content and it´s container became undifferentiated. Exclusively composed from the author´s own body noises, phonetic hash as well as guttural an gastric sounds, evoke the fateful swallowing of a pendulum.

SAS HATTÉ, acousmatic piece, octophonic (8.1), 8’30, 2024

A personal record of the auditory impressions from the woodworking and carpentry workshops of Tronchoy, France. The compositional work attempts to articulate the cohesion of the craftmen’s parallel work within the space: wood supply, machining of parts, sanding, assembly, and finishing touches. Their presence, though subtle, is discernible in the rhythmic interplay of tools and machines, attuned to the precision of their movements.
