Lebanese imprint Feedasoul Records returns this August with ‘Moody Type Love Pt.II’ by Papa Soul, accompanied by remixes from Soul Groove (UK) and DJ Merci.
Byblos, Lebanon’s Papa Soul is co-founder of the Feedasoul Records label and over the past few years has unveiled a series of material showcasing his twist on contemporary house sounds. Here he returns to the label for the second instalment of his ‘Moody Type Love’ EP.
The original mix of ‘Moody Type Love Pt. II’ leads the release and showcases Papa Soul’s signature style via groove-laden, sample heavy drums, soul-infused vocals and warm, hypnotic keys.
DJ Merci’s take on ‘Moody Type Love Pt. II’ follows next, embracing a garage swing rhythmically while stirring in bright electric piano keys and snaking bass grooves. Soul Groove (UK) then rounds thing out with his interpretation, embracing a more jazztinged, soulful aesthetic via organic percussion and intricate brass lines atop elements of the original’s hazy soulful vibe.

They have given us an EP of theirs as a little "Thanks For Being You" present. We hope you like it. The 1st track "Moments" is like a house music version of a box of chocolates. Soul Bump would be the disco sampled track version of a romantic dinner. Make You Love Me is the last minute flowers purchased at the gas station and A Mighty Wind is the feeling you have after the good night shag. Too much? Too late. Enjoy friends.

Javonntte is one of the stand out artists of the deep house scene in 2021, his productions are deep and evocative and hugely reverential yet immediate and powerful. Moulton Music is a collaboration of artists obsessed with both the future and past of house music.  Being run by producers and music-makers, our output is varied, ranging from deep house to soul to jackin' disco, but always with a sense of historical perspective and an ear for fine-tuned production, as well as a deep connection to the dancefloor.  We're based around San Francisco's legendary Moulton Studios, where most of the production takes place, but our friends and collaborators stretch far and wide.  

There are many people involved, but our core consists of Chris Lum and David Harness (who together form Harlum Muziq), as well as Homero Espinosa and Allen Craig (both formerly of Yerba Buena Discos), along with San Francisco cult favorite DJ's Sergio Fedasz and Ivan Ruiz, and producer and marketing guru Anish Acharya (of Dream In Audio).  Of course, we have many more friends and compatriots when you include all the people involved in our regular Molton Sessions underground house party, our various club nights, and the rest of the artists and remixers on the label, but it's that spirit of collaboration, along with our past-meets-future musical values, which defines Moulton Music.
