Baltimore house music icon Teddy Douglas drops a 60 minute mix for 5 Mag in celebration of his new album, "I'm Here."

@teddy-douglas-official has left a deep and indelible mark on house music in America and worldwide from his records with The Basement Boys and Jasper Street Co. — one of the creators of the Baltimore house sound that changed club music forever. Teddy Douglas's new album, I'm Here, debuts this month on Nervous Records and features collaborations with an array of outstanding artists, including Ultra Nate, Fast Eddie, Sipho and more. 

"The tunes featured on my new Mix for 5 Magazine are some hot new jams I’m feeling at the moment," Douglas tells 5 Mag, "and also some of my exclusive remixes, such as the classic Joe Smooth’ I'm Not Giving Up’ and Spencer Morales  ‘Without Love’ (Teddy Douglas Tedd Patterson Edit). The mix also features some brand new tunes from my first solo LP ‘I'm Here’, which has just been released on Nervous Records, including ‘Star In the Ghetto’ featuring Buckshot from Blackmoon, ‘Tonight’ featuring Richard Farrell and legendary Ultra Nate’s collaboration with me on ‘Searching (For Your Love)’. One of my favourite personal dance floor cuts at the moment, is my collaboration with Hip House legend Fast Eddie with ‘House Music’, which is already being hammered by Louie Vega in his DJ sets. What makes a legend: longevity, fame, respect or a combination of the three? Label owner, songwriter, producer and DJ, Mark Grant has been making legendary moves for 23 years now. He is a world traveled DJ with a non-stop tour schedule secured by a fan base that stretches from his hometown Chicago, to as far as Istanbul. Hes produced a number of songs and remixes that have garnered him the respect of his peers and music media. Put it all together and you have an internationally known, well-respected talent who has shown incredible resilience in an industry of one-hit wonders. Its true, Mark Grant has the stuff of legend, but with no signs of stopping, don't call him one, just yet.

House Heroes | Mark Grant

Moulton Music is a collaboration of artists obsessed with both the future and past of house music.  Being run by producers and music-makers, our output is varied, ranging from deep house to soul to jackin' disco, but always with a sense of historical perspective and an ear for fine-tuned production, as well as a deep connection to the dancefloor.  We're based around San Francisco's legendary Moulton Studios, where most of the production takes place, but our friends and collaborators stretch far and wide.  

There are many people involved, but our core consists of Chris Lum and David Harness (who together form Harlum Muziq), as well as Homero Espinosa and Allen Craig (both formerly of Yerba Buena Discos), along with San Francisco cult favorite DJ's Sergio Fedasz and Ivan Ruiz, and producer and marketing guru Anish Acharya (of Dream In Audio).  Of course, we have many more friends and compatriots when you include all the people involved in our regular Molton Sessions underground house party, our various club nights, and the rest of the artists and remixers on the label, but it's that spirit of collaboration, along with our past-meets-future musical values, which defines Moulton Music.
