RENDER RECORDINGS showcases its second Various Artists compilation. RNDR005 is a showcase of unique artists in the western Canadian breaks, bass house, and techno scene. This compilation kicks off with a fresh bass house track titled “Dream Land” by Freddy J, which features the smooth lyrical flows of Rubix. We then move into some swinging, funky breakbeats with FunkinRight and his track titled “Funky Like.” Bright Idea adds to the Glitch Hop tip with his crunchy beats and glitchy textures on his track titled “Glitchin Aboot.” So So Fresh label boss, Mctwist, brings some serious heat with his booty breaks track titled “One Time Only.” AGE takes us on a journey into acid breaks and leftfield techno with his jam “Acid Therapy.” Dojo Entertainment boss, Donald Bump, uses some clever sampling and brings that G-Funk vibe on his breaks track titled “Creepin & Crawling.” SwaggaCats closes off the release with his peak time techno track “WhenUrAlone.”

@brightideaofficial awakens Cuttin’ It Fine from their slumber. We took a few months off from dropping heat on your lug holes, but the time has come to unearth another four track EP that’s going to split wigs wherever it’s played:

Kicking of proceedings with “Good Good”. That’s right, it’s that fresh we said it twice. To be fair, the deal was sealed the minute we heard this joint. Bright Idea comes correct with a reggae infused glitch number. You’ll have to book a Chiro appointment after listening to this to get your neck fixed.

Coming through next is “Listen Up”. We take the tempo up a notch and supply a bed of synths, stabs and growls. This track delivers a solid bounce making it primed for dancefloors so make room in your crates for this belter.

Hot on the heels is a firm favourite at Cuttin’ It Fine HQ “Hold It Down” Taking a soulful sample and surrounding it with superb sound design. This joint has an edgy feel while appealing to those looking for a riddim reminiscent of R&B. 

Wrapping up this parcel of heat, we finish on “Break It Down”. This is another party mover. Once again Bright Idea calls upon his arsenal of synths and sound design to produce a well-earned glitch stomper for the masses! Coming to a club near you, we’re on the home run!

We're as excited as a one eyed dog in a meat factory right now because we're welcoming The Beat-Pimp (UK) to the LSM team! Based in Sunderland, The Beat-Pimp has been rolling out a number of mixes that have caught our attention on numerous occasions and because they're heavily laced with Funk, it was a no brainer to send out our trusty carrier pigeon to his home with the invite attached firmly to it. In no time at all the pigeon returned with bells on it and a reply saying 'YES'. So from now on you can expect a mix from The Beat-Pimp every six weeks or so that we'll be bringing to you exclusively here on the ward. His mixes will feature most of the Funky Breaks, Glitch Hop, Funky D n B and the like we post here on the blog and also a few gems he's picked up himself.

First comes title-track 'Railroad', a super-technical head-nodder which would fit nicely in the soundtrack of a futuristic spaghetti western. Next comes 'Going East', an ethereal bass-monster with infectious disco leads and Vancara’s own super slick piano playing. 'City Street Jam' follows that, a melodic chilled number which oozes laid back sunshiny vibes. Then, last but by no means least, comes 'Disco Balls' - an uptempo burner that’ll turn your dance floors into a fun time free-for-all.
