News Carrying Ghosts - Ghost Writerz ft Chronixx (prod. Mungo's Hi Fi)

The latest installment of the Hold Tight Records digital catalogue comes courtesy of Ickle, a core Hold Tight family member and exciting up and coming DJ, producer and engineer. Ickle bring us two roots inspired tracks alongside the vocal talents of Dee Gomez and Indra MC.

The opening track from the EP ‘The Most High’ is a perfect example of Ickle’s energetic and hypnotising signature sound. A backbone of roots drums and a rolling bassline accompanies piano skanks and organ licks, with Dee Gomez providing euphoric and catchy lead vocals that go hand in hand with Ickle’s dubbed out style. 

The second track ‘Eye For An Eye’ is one for the sound systems. Incorporating heavyweight rolling percussion alongside stomach churning low end and ethereal sound effects, this one is a must for any selector. Indra MC compliments this with his signature style, hypnotic and melodic vocals accentuating a conscious subject matter.

HTD004 takes inspiration from the roots of UK sound system culture, whilst representing the Hold Tight ethos: presenting new sounds that draw heavy influence from the music’s history.
