𓂀 After meeting on a dance floor in Toronto, CA of 2017, Ella and Valerie @carerra-and-tavares had an immediate connection after realizing their common love for all things house and techno, including their deep passion for the more melodic side. It’s through this passion and connection that ultimately led the duo to embark on the C&T project. 

𓂀 Having played all the dance floors in their hometown of Toronto, which includes supporting international acts such as Eli & Fur, Maya Jane Coles, Audiofly, Dennis Ferrer, Bedouin and Ame, has not only developed their reputation as both support and peak time artists, but also earned them their place in the dance music community and helped develop a loyal fan base. Always bringing heart-warming yet energetic vibes to every dance floor, this dynamic duo exude positivity - look out for more of Carerra & Tavares in the near future.

Pedro Capelossi is becoming an essential pillar of TOR. With a knack for capturing timeless vibes alongside innovative melodies, the Brazilian is making some of the best music we've released on TOR thus far. His two EPs touch upon classic-feeling instrumentals with heady understated groove. As we gear up for another release from Pedro on our Tales of Romance series, he gives us a sense of his prowess behind the decks on the latest Selectors.

Joe Miller is an English-born beatmonger, influenced in equal measure by heaving clubs and the earthy melancholy of forests. He grew up in Australia, where he learned to craft sets that are whimsical and left-field, evoking a sense of place. 
Joe has released music on All Day I Dream and Bedrock (with Jamie Stevens), Dream Culture, Hoomidaas, Magician on Duty, Nie Wieder Schlafen, Sag & Tre and Traum Schallplatten. His tracks have been supported by Sasha, Guy J, Nick Warren, Mira and Atish.
As well as playing headline sets in Miami, New York, Saigon and Tokyo, Joe has crafted studio mixes for the Balance Series, Flow Sessions, DJ Mag and Deeper Sounds (streaming on British Airways and Emirates flights).

With Summer slowly reaching its end, I've decided to share my set from AIM, which was one (amongst many) of my highlights of the year. The beautiful crowd, the gorgeous sunny day without a cloud in sight, the gentle breeze by the water; it was a perfect experience. I felt so much joy and positivity that was radiating from the dancers in front of me. I was having a total blast and I'm sure that whoever was there could tell ;)

Barcelona, Spain

Boasting more than a decade of experience releasing music, Pablo Bolívar is a name familiar to most in the underground circuit of Dance music. Born in Santander, Spain, in 1981, he took his first steps into the music business by studying Sound Engineering at Barcelona’s Crash institute, then working as an engineer for a number of years following his graduation in 1998.

After a while, Pablo began working at one of Spain’s most recognised Electronic imprints, Decoder Muzique. Following this, in 2006 he released his debut LP via Barcelona label Regular, entitled ‘Anjanas’. The 11-track album showcased his melodic, hypnotic and intriguing style of Techno that has over the years become synonymous with his name, panning between ambient sections and tougher, more club-driven moments with a real maturity and understanding of music that only comes from studying the art at its core.

In 2009, Pablo released his critically acclaimed and personal favourite LP, ‘Recall’, also via Regular. The album saw him once again nod to past influences such as Heiko Laux and his Kanzleramt label as well as other German imprints such as Chain Reaction, but also was deeply inspired by the passing of his father.

Since then, the Spaniard has gone from strength to strength, with further releases on Regular, as well as on Curle Recordings, Galaktika Records, Desolat, Justified Cause as well as via his own labels, Seven Villas and Avantroots, also remixing the likes of Gui Boratto, Mario Basanov, When Saints Go Machine, Gorge, Parov Stelar or Juana Molina to name a few.

As well as a number of excellent studio releases, Pablo has utilised his background as a sound engineer to help produce for a number of other musicians, including for Hirotaka Miyamoto’s LP ‘Circles’ and Maurice Aymard’s album ‘Between the Stars’. Furthermore, Pablo has continued to manage and release other artist’s music on his labels Avantroots (established 2009 and co-managed by Sergio Sanz) and Seven Villas (established 2014).

Outside of music production, the gifted Spaniard has built up a reputation for his meticulously crafted DJ performances, combining his own mesmerising Techno cuts with records unearthed from his regular excursions crate digging as well as from other artists such as Move D, Soulphiction, I:Cube and Vakula – modern names that he is a big personal fan of.

Looking ahead and Pablo shows little signs of slowly down his ambitious workload, with planned releases on labels such as Endless, Culprit, Moodmusic and Peppermint Jam as well as many other projects in the pipeline. He’ll also continue running his two labels, as well as touring internationally. Keep an eye out for more output from one of Spain’s most exciting talents.

Following on last month's theme. As patina is the surface expressing what's underneath, lustre is the energy that emanates outwards. The tracks in this mix have a warm, gentle but driving depth to them. There are some feelings in here that I associate to the sense of power held by aged wood, as both a strong material and a soft expression of life.

Since first attending Burning Man in 2010, DISTRIKT has always been a go-to party during the day when you wanted to just let go and let your freak flag fly.  Always a good time, I have had many hot sweaty days here dancing in the sun and enjoying all the beauty it has to offer.  When I was asked to play this past year, I was elated that they wanted me back. Being able to play for such a quintessential sound camp is such an honor and humbling experience.  It pushes me as an artist and makes me work extra hard cause, you know you have to bring the vibes when you hit the decks.  For this year I wanted to do something special, and I chose to play more than 50% original unreleased material as well as new music from my label. It was such an amazing feeling seeing people get down to music that I produced, I’m forever grateful for the experience. I just want to give a huge thank you to Ben, the whole DISTRIKT crew, my friends, and all the people who were there who made this day unforgettable.  I’m happy to share this set with you all, this will be the only set I share from the Burn this year, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did playing.  Much love and see you in 2020 )’(
