About Julie Petrecca:

Julie Petrecca, a French Canadian based in Montreal, has been immersed in the world of music since her early years, thanks to her father's recording studio. He not only passed on his passion for music but also fostered Julie's interest in the diverse realm of musical expression.
During her late teens, Julie's musical journey took an intriguing turn when she discovered Electronic music, fuelling a growing passion for the art form. Years of exposure to various musical genres, coupled with a deep connection to the industry, shaped Julie's eclectic taste, spanning Underground Deep House, Organic House, Progressive House, Melodic House & Techno, and Techno—although her heart leans towards the underground sounds.
Since February 2015, Julie has been the host of her own weekly show, the 'The So What! Radio show,' providing a platform for DJs and DJ/Producers from across the globe. In addition to her own radio endeavours, Julie actively contributes to 'Radio Webphré,' her family's radio station, showcasing her dedication to the rich and ever-evolving world of music.

I find myself dancing in a colorful room. I can't see any walls anywhere and yet it feels like I'm inside a building. It seems as if the room is so big that you simply can't see the walls. Lights in all the colors of the rainbow are raining down from the ceiling. Well, actually, I can't really see the ceiling either. I just assume that there is a ceiling behind all the lights. The bodies of dozens of figures are moving around me, but no one seems to be interacting with me. No matter which way I turn, everyone has their backs to me as they twitch ecstatically to the music.I shrug my shoulders and just keep dancing.

The exploration of the deeper side of techno by Dosem, since busting onto the scene almost 10 years ago, has seen him clock up countless air miles, release a string of hit club tracks and earn accolades from many of his peers, who deem him to be one of the most influential underground Spanish DJs in the scene today. The demand for Dosem's infusion of deep textured sounds, relentless precision drums and driving rhythms which make up his club cuts that are making dance floors shake the world over shows no sign of slowing. Whether it’s Fusion Festival, Berlin’s Ritter Butzke, Sisyphos, Kater Blau or Amsterdam Dance Event, her performances have taken DJ, music producer and label owner @julianewolfmusic to many places. She has shared stages with the likes of Guy J, Marc Romboy, Andreas Henneberg, Joris Delacroix, Darin Epsilon and many more. Besides live gigs, Juliane has also discovered the world of producing. This discovery has led to many releases and remixes on labels such as 3000Grad, The Soundgarden, Dear Deer Music, EIN2, Poesie Musik and many others. Juliane’s tracks have been supported by artists such as Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Sasha, Eelke Kleijn, Karotte or Petar Dundov. 

Out of a desire to be more independent as an artist, Juliane founded her own label Wizarding Wolf in 2019. The label has become a successful platform for Juliane’s own tracks and remixes as well as music from artists such as Antrim, Weird Sounding Dude or Luciano Scheffer. Juliane presents new tracks in her monthly radio show 'Wizarding Wolf Radio' on Proton Radio, DI.FM and Saturo Sounds.

▌I How did you prepare this mix and what was your main inspiration?
Soooo...Getting ready for a set is like laying out a roadmap, sorting through 100-150 tracks a couple of days beforehand. But when I hit the stage and feel the crowd's energy, that's when the real fun starts. I dive into their vibe, see what they're feeling, and let it steer the ship. It's all about being in the moment, reading the room, and crafting a unique experience together. So I pick each track after another based on that. There's something special about that live connection—it's where the magic happens.

▌II How does "Babylon" reflect your musical journey thus far? 
"Babylon" is more than just a track—it's a reflection of my personal and artistic evolution. It draws inspiration from the intricate tapestry of human emotions and experiences that shape us. Each note is a snapshot of where I am in my musical journey, capturing the essence of growth, exploration, and self-discovery. Through "Babylon," I aim to invite listeners into this journey, to resonate with the highs and lows, the twists and turns, and ultimately find solace in the shared human experience.

▌III "Babylon" seems to blend various genres seamlessly. How do you maintain this eclectic style while still staying true to your artistic vision? 
The eclectic blend of genres within "Babylon" is a reflection of my belief in the fluidity of music and the power of genre-bending experimentation. While my sound is often associated with melodic techno and indie dance, I'm not one to be confined by labels or boundaries. Instead, I draw inspiration from a diverse array of musical influences, spanning across electronic, world, ambient, and experimental genres.This approach allows me to infuse each track with a unique flavor and texture, ensuring that every listening experience is fresh and exciting. Whether it's the pulsating rhythms of techno, the infectious melodies of indie dance, or the ethereal atmospheres of ambient music, I aim to create music that resonates with listeners on a deep and emotional level.
