Telecast - #045 - Telecasting to the cosmos! Welcome to the forty-fifth TELECAST. A series of podcasts that I am releasing monthly with the humble aim of combining the music I find, love, and want to share into a set for everyone to enjoy. Hopefully, it will become your go-to place for a fix of good music.

Time for a new Telecast! It’s number 45 already so we should be hitting the half centennial mark somewhere this year. This month it features a couple of new artists that I fell in love with, mainly, Zedjue. His downtempo tracks are amazing and feature a lot of electric guitars and funky synths.

My good friends Polynation came out of hibernation and have released a new EP for the first time since 2019 and it’s a beauty! I featured the first and last track of the EP as the last and first track of the podcast.

I added a David Lynch track as a tribute to someone who has inspired millions and freaked out millions more with his wacky stuff.

ᏗrutanᎥ's "La Esencia", or essence,  is a grey submarine which slowly ships to deeper part of the ocean, in a very strong shape. Going deeper may bring one to the end of the ocean, if it exists. 
Maybe he wants to find a new form of matter, excitement, peace or knowledge; who knows...

Joining him in this journey is a great experience indeed.

Desert Dreams

Originally from Istanbul, Turkey, Tuğçe Kurtiş grew up with a love for music, especially music performance. At age 6, she joined the school choir and started singing. Since then, she performed in countless occasions in Turkey, the US, Brazil, Costa Rica and Paraguay. Tuğçe studied voice, ear training, jazz vocals, and West-African drumming with percussionist Milford Graves and singer & songwriter Sheila Jordan among others. Various listeners have remarked that her voice is "ethereal", "something ancient, calling from the primeval darkness of fairytale". Tuğçe's musical interests cross genres and continents. She has collaborated as a singer, songwriter, and co-producer with Paraguayan musician & producer Santi on three albums: Ciclico (2014), Songs for Another Day (2015), and El Regreso del Gallito (2016). She has also released four singles: Istanbul'a (2017), Donde Va (2016), Sevda Çiçeği   (2016) and Backflash (2015). As the founder of the Kybele project, she aspires to develop opportunities for greater collaboration and broader inclusion of artists from around the world.

That autumn morning, the little witch woke up from the pleasant sound of the singing birds in her forest.  With her eyes half-open and still feeling drowsy from a good night’s sleep, her heart suddenly skipped a beat from excitement when she realized the next night there would be a full moon, which meant she’ll participate in the monthly witch coven (which always happens in a different location and in the ever-changing company of two other witches).  
After finishing her morning rituals and the daily inspection round of the damp and fresh woods, the girl said goodbye to the forest dwellers, and flew into the unknown.  She knew she would – as always - reach her destination by simply following her inner compass.  This time she was flying into South-Eastern direction, over a lush green landscape of hills and valleys until she reached The Vosges, a low mountain range in northeastern France, where she gently touched down in a clearing in a huge pine forest.  To her surprise, there were plenty of beautiful cuckoo-flowers blooming, which was very unusual in this time of the year.  Soon afterwards, two other witches touched down simultaneously, one coming from the South-West while the other came from the other side of the mighty river in the East.  The three women were extremely surprised to see that all of them were still young, as generally, a witch coven takes place with a young, a middle-aged (around 150 years) and an old witch of at least 500 years of age.  And even more surprising … all 3 witches were pregnant.  Actually, it was the very first time the little witch met other pregnant witches.  They all sensed this coven would be a very, very special one.  In another wonderful coincidence, it turned all 3 witches were 21 months pregnant, which is exactly half-way for a witch.
After the customary group hug, the witches performed a series of mystic ceremonies and ecstatic dances.  Around midnight, the three women got very tired (which is actually very unusual during a witch coven) and decided to lie down and rest in the soft moss, and soon the three of them drifted away in a blissful sleep.  After some time, the little witch woke up and she immediately sensed that her womb was empty.  She instantly knew her baby was having yet another out-of-womb excursion and she wasn’t the least bit worried.  At that moment, the two other witches also woke up and discovered that their unborn babies were also gone.  Then they heard children’s voices in the distance, singing a cheerful French song ‘Un, Deux, Trois, Nous Irons Au Bois’ (‘1, 2, 3, we go to the forest’).  
The three witches walked towards the voices and soon they saw the three little girls, who seemed to be around 3 years of age and singing and dancing friskily around a bunch of floating lights (which somehow they must have created themselves with a magic spell).  The moms kept a respectful distance in order not to disturb their ebullient offspring, whose nocturnal activities drew the attention of quite a few rabbits, hedgehogs and squirrels.  Soon they were all singing and dancing in a spontaneous rave party, singing ‘7, 8, 9, Et C'est La Teuf !!!’
After a while the witches decided to return to the clearing where they soon fell asleep again.  Just before sunrise, the young witch woke up and immediately sensed her baby had returned to the safety of her womb and the same thing had also happened to the 2 other witches.  After the morning rituals and a healthy breakfast, the 3 (or rather 6) witches gave each other a tender group hug and flew back to their home forests, very happy and very proud of the next generation of witches …

Rising from the land of muses, Anatolia; Mousikē started as a Soundcloud page & private parties in Istanbul. Now it turned into a series of musical gatherings all around the world, which ended up as a vibrant community with a great variety of colours and tastes.

With launch of Mousikē Records, roots of our young tree are expanding to various channels and music platforms to grow & give more goods to wider community; and eventually die and decompose to its core elements which will become life & inspiration to other livings in the universe.
