Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the fantastic world of Da Iguana. After several releases on cool labels such as Random Collective or Serenades, Playground records is honored to present it’s 39th reference from this talented French producer. ‘Sombras y Sueños’, is not only the name of the release but also expresses part of Pierre's personal biography. He spent some time living in Mexico where he could absorb the oniric language of rituals and the telluric forces of nature.
Before jumping in, we want to warn you about the magnetic power of this album.
Five original tracks full of hypnotic rhythms, downtempo feelings, post-funk groove, organic instrumentations and folk insinuations that build one immersive imaginary jungle. A place out of time, a nowhere land. The perfect scenario for a slow motion dance out of the ordinary everyday reality.

On the remix dimension of this multiverse, Mexican Cabizbajo delivers a more housy version of ‘Sombra Selvática’ and Guatemalan Di Laif goes deep on ‘Reg Sprits’.

From now on, words are unnecessary. Like the king of funk used to say: “free your mind and your ass will follow”.

For his fifth EP released by SABI, Italian dj/producer A-Tweed based in Rome delivers a weird deep downtempo work mixturing organic samples with odd synthesizer soundscapes.
FM digital modulation and tribal percussions are the main characters of the first track ""Maguro Katsu"" (his favourite Japanese recipe) that can rely also on a magic modular remix by Brazilian wizard Carrot Green.
""Sick Sick Phase"" is the second track that will bring you in a noisy downtempo mood between drones and wild analog modulations. Just really sick!
The third namesake track ""Cyanobacteria"" is a wild representation of the appearance of life on the planet earth due to the oxidation revolution 2450 millions years ago. Tribal organic sounds meet a powerful ""sample & hold"" melody and sub bass.
This track is remixed by talented japanese producer Mamazu, head honcho of SABI.


ローマ在住のイタリア人DJ/プロデューサー、A-Tweedの5枚目のEPがSABIからリリースされた。奇妙でディープなダウンテンポでオーガニックなサンプルにサウンドスケープがミックスされた。1曲目の ""Maguro Katsu""(彼のお気に入りの日本料理のレシピ)では、FMデジタルモジュレーションとトライバルパーカッションが疾走する。2曲目の ""Sick Sick Phase""はドローンとワイルドなアナログ・モジュレーションの間で、ノイジーなムードが景色を映す。3曲目の ""Cyanobacteria""は、2450万年前の酸化革命によって地球上に生命体が出現したことをワイルドに表現したトラックである。トライバルなオーガニックサウンドに、パワフルなサンプル＆ホールドのメロディがサブベースに絡みつく。ブラジルの魔術師Carrot Greenによる魔法のモジュラーリミックスとSABIのプロデューサーであるMamazuによるRemixはTinnenによるPercussionが絡み躍動する。

Das Projekt "RIZA" sollte eine Brücke zwischen traditionellem griechischen Liedgut und moderner elektronischer Musik schlagen. Um dies zu bewerkstelligen habe ich erst einmal eine teilweise geographisch, teilweise kulturspezifische Recherche betrieben, um auf besondere Momente griechischer Musiklandschaft zu stoßen. Meine Auswahl ist dabei auf folgende Lieder gefallen:

1. Domna Samiou - To Miroloi Tis Panagias (Das Klagelied der Maria, Mutter Jesu) / Osterlied
2. Domna Samiou - Lismono Kai Xairomai (Ich vergesse und freue mich) / Epirotisches Lied
3. Loudovikos Ton Anogeion - Unbekanntes Lied / Kreta
4. Domna Samiou - Ena Mouni Stin Kerasia (Pussy On A Cherry Tree) / Fastnachts-Lied

Somit folgen die Hörer einer Reise startend von orthodoxen Kirchengesängen, zu alten epirotischen Flüchtlingsgesängen, zu den Klängen der minoischen Kultur und letztendlich dem Gesang der sexuellen Freiheit und der Dämonenvertreibung griechischer alt-traditioneller Fastnacht.

Diese alten Traditionen habe ich in ein neues elektronisches Gewand gekleidet und hoffe damit den modernen Ohren eine alte, fast vergessene Wurzel wieder näher zu bringen.
