In the next episode of the Heptaseas podcast, we’re excited to welcome Berlin-based techno producer, live act, and DJ Liza Aikin. Known for her half-tempo beats and unique soundscapes, Liza uses field recordings and modular synthesizers in her studio to create tailor-made tracks that capture the sound she was missing on the dancefloor.

Her productions have been released on influential labels such as Mord Records, Emetic, Gegen Records, OBSCUUR, and Voxnox, with remixes featured on Instruments of Discipline and Obscuure. Liza’s music extends beyond techno into experimental electronic realms, and her EP with Monolog on Evar Records, “Until There Was Nothing,” was charted among Bandcamp’s best Dance 12” Singles for June-July 2022.

A regular at Berlin’s Tresor club, Liza Aikin’s DJ sets are known for pushing boundaries—from dark, hard-charged techno to unexpected bass breaks, embodying the powerful and dynamic spirit of the German techno scene. Tune in for a deep dive into Liza’s sound and creative process.

Massive demonstrations have erupted in Tbilisi and other cities as a result of election falsification by the ruling party, the suspension of EU negotiations, anti-LGBTQ+ laws, authoritarian policies, and growing allegiance to the Kremlin. These protests have been met with violent crackdowns by riot police, including brutal assaults on journalists and widespread political repression.

More than 400 people have been arrested (age 15-60). 80% of them beaten and tortured in need of hospitalization. New laws further restrict freedom of peaceful expression during protest.

Hecate Legacy is an industrial techno project by Alex Nadiradze, an artist and DJ from Tbilisi. Having earned his stripes within the esteemed halls of KHIDI,  a household name in Tbilisis’s nightlife scene, Hecate Legacy commands the attention of its audience with a haunting synthesis of rugged industrial rhythms and melancholic primordial melodies. Hecate Legacy is a member of the Persephonic Sirens family and has been released on labels such as OSM Tapes and Liber Null Berlin.

7SEAS 004 - Alpha Sect

We are very pleased to welcome Second Tension as our 36th guest on the Kaos London podcast series with a live mix of new music created for the Kaos London showcase at Astron Club, Athens in July 2024.

Second Tension is a project by Stavros Tilkeridis, a Greek artist and DJ. Stavros started creating music back in the early nineties, with next to no access to the outside world. He started with tape loops, not too dissimilar to those by Pierre Schaffer, and got his hands on his first sampler, Mpc 2000xl, by the late nineties. Stavros was introduced to rave culture in the early two-thousands and experimented his way through them, using his music to search for a deeper, hidden meaning. He started Second Tension in 2016 as an attempt to capture a progressive spirit in electronic music, combining primitive and industrial aesthetics. With 3 EPs and an LP  on Persephonic Sirens, and several  released on OSM Tapes, and Monolith.

Andrii Chulii, a human being behind Revolt project delivers a one-hour journey on GWI MYEON records. Originating from Lviv, Ukraine and now based in Warsaw, he has already introduced his sound on the label through the 鬼面 : VA 02 compilation with track "Future Vague". His live set, recorded on an old-school Akai APC40, combines fundamental rugged basslines with melancholic synths, industrial-tinged percs and haunting atmospheres.

Rynzler is a DJ and producer who has made a name for himself with releases on labels such as Phage Tapes, Glanz + Elend, Omen Recordings and Vumantra. His journey into music began in 2018, when he got exposed to various styles of electronic music, awakening his passion for music production. With this mix for The Lightvessel, Rynzler showcases what's essentially the sound of both of his productions and his DJ mixes. He mingles hard-hitting industrial- and EBM-influenced techno with dark atmospheric soundscapes. Dystopia occasionally drifts into nihilism due to its brute force.
