Eliza Rose was live playing a selection of tracks she picked upo whilst on a recent trip to Mexico. Reggae, salsa, disco, house and UKG all coming up over the two hours.

"The mix is pure old skool, every track is an original early to mid-90s tune (with the exception of Rain which is a late 80s Acid track and the end song which is a 2021 release, but a cheeky nod to a 90s classic) It starts off with some Italo House, which is this dreamy blend of Italo, Balearic and Piano house which I'm really loving at the moment, but is often too laid back to play out. I dip into some Dream House towards the end, which is that happy intersection between house and trance, which I'm also really enjoying right now. There are tracks from some iconic classic labels such as UR, Dance Mania, Sex Mania, Nu Groove, Warp and Stress Records - so some serious nods to Chicago, NYC, Detroit as well as UK house. It's very reminiscent of the sounds that were played when I first started clubbing and DJ-ing, so it's a real nod to my humble beginnings."

Monthly ‘Adventures From Beyond’ presented by Magic Castles with guests on rotation and special guests, be it artists, friends or like-minded souls, broadcast on Soho Radio. A sonic exploration of music for all occasions with no brief or genre in mind.

We’re back on Sohoradio this evening from 6-8pm. When I say we I actually mean Felix Dickinson & Darius Akashic for a special ‘Slack Takeover’. As you may by now know our latest collection ‘Sensory Overload’ borrows artworks from zines and flyers of the party Slack, celebrating a little-documented but crucial junction of the free party scene.  Slack was a Brighton based party. The clothing, with permission from the artists and promoters the collection, uses motifs and phrases from the party’s paper zines as their primary designs. 

Felix and Darius were 2 of the DJs and promoters behind the party among others so its a great pleasure to welcome then onto the show for a reunion almost 30 years in the waiting. 

The show is also archived on our sound cloud page. The Slack crew have also just released Vol one of a Spotify playlist.
