Over the last thirteen years, DJ Phil has evolved from a protege and student of the late DJ Rashad to one of the most ambitious core members of Chicago's Teklife collective. 

While he contributed to many iconic releases like 'Double Cup' and produced iconic remixes for Machinedrum or Scratcha DVA, DJ PHIL did not release a lot of solo projects outside of rare EPs for Nightslugs or Ghettophiles + appearances on Moveltraxx' Street Bangers Factory compilations so we are especially thrilled to released his new record. 

'Boarding Pass : Prelude To The Flight' has everything you could dream of from a DJ PHIL EP: epic battle tracks, club ready beats, lush synth and vocals with soul and  jungle influences fusing Chicago's rich history of house music with more modern juke/footwork.

This album isn't even the next thing I'm going to release but I wanted to tease it in this format because I think it'd be cool if anyone heard this and got excited about it. I'll probably re-order the tunes before release and I'll definitely remaster everything. It's 12 tracks over 40 something minutes atp. This thing grooves I'm really satisfied with it.
