I’ve been involved in the Los Angeles underground since ’91, long enough to watch it shapeshift a hundred times over. What began as a raw, after-hours warehouse culture slowly morphed into a global force. Genres lit up and faded out, DJs and promoters rose, vanished, then reappeared like ghosts from another era. Friends linked up, started families, while others slipped on to the next life. Through all of it, the one constant has always been house music. And the heartbeat of LA’s house underground is deep house—forever powered by its original source code, disco.

You can’t step into a real underground house event in Los Angeles without feeling that lineage. The low-slung grooves, the warm basslines and tech influence with soulful lift—deep and disco are stitched into the city’s DNA.

So, for December’s mix, I went home. Back to the sound that raised me, back to the LA I know best. This is deep and disco house, US West Coast style—sun-kissed, hypnotic, and built for long afternoons that slide effortlessly deep into the night.
