Running Hot Radio took things down a notch for this months show with a breezy mix of downtempo synth jams for those balmy summer evenings. They were on warm-up duties before being joined by this month's guest Melbourne based DJ Earl Grey (https://soundcloud.com/earlgreyradio), who can normally be found keeping busy organising parties with Rimbombo and sourcing music for not one but two quality record labels in Ken Oath and Best Effort. He also hosts The Best Effort Show, a transmission on Skylab Radio specialising in calming sounds for home listening.

Last month, Lewis Ross (@lewisross-2) from the Edinburgh-based crew Hand-made (@hand-madedjs) kindly asked me to put together a 1-hour mix for their monthly residency on their local station EH-FM 📡

They cover the first hour with some reggae and downtempo, carrying through to the mix I cooked. Really appreciated to combine recent digs and long-time favorites, ranging from reggae to disco, street soul to SA bubblegum, zouk to italo 🏝️ <3

DJ and record collector for over 15 years Mari Mac Dowell, born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, now resides in Brooklyn, NY, where for three years she has been expanding her collection of obscure brazilian and african records, new-wave, house and boogie. 

Mari became a regular in the booth of a few underground clubs in the city such as Mood Ring, Jupiter Disco and Public Records. Inveterate music researcher she is always looking for hidden gems to elevate you to other frequencies. She hosts a weekly show at the Brooklynite FaceRadio with her Synth Waves program every Thursday.
