The sea breeze caressed the sails as vessels set their course toward the mystical shores of Valinor. Guided by the whispers of the ocean and the wings of swift seagulls, the ships departed from the harbour. Enamoured by the vibrant palette of colours and sounds, the sailors found themselves surrounded by flocks of swift seagulls. The birds' feathers glistened in the rays of the setting sun, foreshadowing a clear and calm night of sailing to faraway lands.

Rico Casazza is no stranger to the Moving Pictures Label and the local scene. Calling Prague his home for the past few years, Italian electro/techno heavyweight is returning to the imprint with a new record titled “Climax”.

The EP brings to life a pair of high-speed dancefloor weapons, showcasing Rico’s signature touch and sonic precision.

Complementing these tracks are two remixes by Moving Pictures’ label founders - Roman Rai & Täino, having stayed true to the imprint’s eclectic sound and the record’s driving essence.

Thrown is a producer from the North of Czech Republic, who already made his first appearance on Moving Pictures’ V/A compilation in 2020. Liberec based producer delivers a three-tracker tale, complemented with a fourth track - a remix by label’s own duo Aerial. Nostalgic, melancholic, happy, hypnotic? Throughout a decade Rico Casazza has developed a name with music that spans multiple genres. Diversity in music is his core. Nowadays he’s more known for his electro/IDM productions, but he’s also fond of techno, minimal, ambient, and electronica. 

Although saying that an artist “does techno/electro/IDM” is something being heard thousands of times, Rico’s sound has a common characteristic recognised for recurring themes; to best describe it, it has to do with the nostalgic, melodic, ominous, deep music that brings you inside, yet is very energetic.

Having released about 19 EPs, 6 full albums, 15 remixes and more to come, composing music is his core force. 

His carefully crafted sound has found home in Prague’s Moving Pictures label, in a form of a solid 4-tracker vinyl EP. Dive into its four chapters: “Emptiness Form” for a melancholic acid trip, “Ultramarine” for an aquatic techno-submarine immersion, or visit “Praslega” - an obscure yet lush sonic construction, along with “Jan25” - a mellow moody anthem.

Prague based sound foundry Moving Pictures is introducing its latest vinyl release from Japanese singer and electronic music producer Junko Yoshida, also known as “Juterus”. Hailing all the way from the “Land of the Rising Sun”, Junko showcases her unique style of utilising and manipulating her voice alongside self-produced grooves. Alex Burkat is no stranger to eclecticism. From his humble beginnings
as an electroclash live performer as Pfunkt in 2007, to his
exploration into darker UK centric and Detroit booty bass dubstep music
as Rx in 2009, Alex Burkat got his start exploring the boundaries of
electronic music intensity. In 2013, he shifted gears into the realm
of all things House, with his breakthrough record "Shower Scene" on
Mister Saturday Night Records. Since then he has been rocking lofts,
warehouses and intimate music venues all over the Philadelphia and New
York City area. As an extension of his eclectic mixed bag style of
deep house influenced club music, he has started the DJ party and mix
series Ancient Puzzle Arts, with Upstairs at the 700 in Philadelphia as his
home. Alex Burkat shows no sign of slowing down, as he has various
singles and EPs scheduled to drop in 2024.

Guided by the whispers of the ocean and the wings of swift seagulls, the ships departed from the harbour. Enamoured by the vibrant palette of colours and sounds, the sailors found themselves surrounded by flocks of swift seagulls. The birds' feathers glistened in the rays of the setting sun, foreshadowing a clear and calm night of sailing to faraway lands.

“Moving Pictures: Scenes,” the audio exploration series, returns with its second episode. This time, featuring a talented local artist who recently joined our label family — Goodbye Mirage.

Goodbye Mirage is a project by musician and writer Martin Kuška from the Czech Republic. Martin was always dazed in soundscapes, gorgeous 80s and 90s independent sounds, early rare trance and progressive music and individualistic DIY approach to life and music production. 

For Martin, his music production and any other art he has ever done is something much deeper than entertainment. He tends to put a lot of emotions, his own thoughts, memories, experiences and feelings that accompany his life journey into his works.

His production first appeared on the Czech label Krmelec, where he regularly returns, but as Goodbye Mirage he also collaborated with Massimiliano Pagliara on his label Funnuvojere, regularly releases on the Lithuanian Electric Shapes and has also made ambient cassette recordings on the US labels Sacred Phrases and Origin Peoples.

He is a lover of vintage synthesizers, Chinese and Japanese teas, melancholic films, takes photographs and is currently preparing to publish his fourth book.

Still glowing from the celestial afterburn of their ‘Sailing To Valinor’ compilation, Prague-based imprint Moving Pictures return to the radar with another evocative transmission ‘Climax’, a five-part mind sculpture from London-based producer Rico Casazza...But it’s Casazza’s own ambient recast of ‘Remind me pls’ that truly levitates off the tracklist. Ditching the grid for a free-floating drift, the reinterpretation unfurls like an abandoned love letter on a space station console. Swells of melancholic synth stretch across low-pressure bass currents, while ghosted whispers flicker like dying satellites. Time dissolves into mood, and spectral soundscapes becomes a carrier wave for emotion only half-remembered, an audio séance carved for the soft machinery of the heart.

Rico Casazza is Italian-born but currently based in Prague. Here he returns to the Moving Pictures label with another new electro and techno exploration full of his trademark sound designs and high-speed grooves. 'Climax' opens with deep, dobby drums and fizzing static that snakes around the mix while chords bring melancholy and 'Remind Me Pls' twitches with acid deftness and more optimistic chords. Moving Pictures founders Roman Rai and Taino step up with their own remixes. The former flips 'Climax' into deep space trip with lush layers of silky synths and emotive breakdown,s then Taino reconfigures it as a hot stepping house cut with choral vocal swirls and a rubbery bassline that brings the bounce.

Third track is a remix of “Nature & Silence” delivered by our Täino - being his favorite track from Roman’s upcoming LP. Täino adds his own spin to the original version, by creating heavier and more obscure record designed to deliver infectious groove even on bigger club sound-systems. Last but not least ¨Lightness of Being 8¨ brings calming closure to the story of this EP. 

So get your turntable out, put the needle on, close your eyes and get oblivious. It is time to get lost in the textures of Moving Pictures.

Moving Pictures is an idea that spilled from our minds — the minds of two artists — in 2018, and it’s a meeting point of shared passion.

We have cultivated, shaped and grown that concept through our common efforts over time to create an independent record label for electronic music based in the heart of Prague, Czechia.

We aspire to put out captivating and emotionally charged sound, and our specific creative process and shared belief in a DIY approach are at the heart of our label’s philosophy.

Creating a firm connection between the sonic and aesthetic elements of the releases we work with is of great importance to us, and no details are overlooked during this process. We take deep pleasure and pride creating and refining the concept at the core of each release, and there is a deep-rooted connection between the music and visuals of Moving Pictures. Each of these elements mutually inspires the other.

All the creative output you hear and see from us — production, mixing, mastering, artwork, and copywriting — is done in-house by our label artists. Moving Pictures is our shared voice.
