Disguised

Or should we just lean
Toward a quick ending
Every knuckle hurt
But we’re not punching
Hard enough
To join in

It just feels so hard
Fitting in
Moving when you’re all
Sitting
You’ll be first and last
On the scene
But the pile of dust
Is wearing thin
From afar it seems
We’re dreaming
But the crime it self’s just waiting
We’ll just call it a blast
Heroes will conceal
The hole that we left
Hanging

I wish the light could leave the sides
And pour into the road we’ve found
Colors would overflow the signs
We’d be the words that led the waves

And yet another void
Will swallow this deal
And will send the world backward
In our sleep we’ll define
Monsters less inclined
To keep us out of time
We’ll just stare at the glass

Waiting for the dirt to sprawl
I’ll make words out of spikes
Muscles that will hold
A child raised in fear of heights
