This is an presentation I delivered to a conference in Launceston, Tasmania, November, 1984, to a national organisation with 800 members. My mission was to deliver the latest developments in car sound systems from the manufacturer Clarion Corp in Japan, directly to the technical people 'on the ground' across Australia.

Try and imagine there was no CD players in cars, the FIRST CD player in Australia had just landed on my desk (Denon / Nippon Columbia, co-inventors with Sony and Philips).  BIG amps and speakers had just appeared, FM stereo was brand new... AM stereo about to happen..  ESD was a major issue, Australia has deserts that send charged air tot he cities, wreakign havoc on unprotected electronics.. my mission was to bring about this new age of awareness to protective behaviours required by microelectronics....
