Solid Gold GEM AM Jingles (from 2012-2015) - JAM Creative Productions (Dallas)

December 26, 1989 Beautiful Music WLKW 101.5FM/Providence became B101.5 (Oldies WWBB). B101.5 Jingles were sung. According to inaugural PD John Morgan, within 2 weeks jingles, billboards and TV ads were all saying B101. Expenses times 2. Here’s each main jingle, in both versions.

Christmas '67 Bed  (Merry Christmas From WBCQ)

A Jingle tribute to the late, great Trella Hart from Norman Barrington with his British perspective. A unique, instantly recognisable voice, powerful enough to drive the most strident jingle as soloist, yet just as delicate and fragile when the score required (Hear KQV-FM & WRIZ). 

As natural with a fun novelty cut as with a jazz standard. She was everywhere, PAMS, Pepper Tanner, Gwinsound, Spot Productions, JAM, TM, CPMG, KenR, Alfasound and more. We were fortunate that the BBC chose some of her cuts in 1967. Also profusely bootlegged by Radio Caroline. 

She will indeed be sadly missed by all who worked with her, and those who loved her personality through her voice. One for the truly great singers, from the golden age of radio. All copyrights acknowledged.

JINGLES: A COLLECTORS TALE

The short-lived Dallas jingle company Hardy Kirk produced a magnificent but unusable 'MOR Overture' which was later reconceptualised and remixed to make JAM's 'I'd Rather Be in Denver' package.

It might have been unusable in its full form, but it's nevertheless magnificent, conveying much of the emotion and style that I love about great jingles.

MOR Overture(HardyKirk) - MONO

Dick Hamilton wrote about half of the mid-1970s TM Productions "Good Feelings 2" jingle package.  One of the cuts was called "Simple Little People," a sort-of "Oom Pah Pah" offbeat sort of thing.  
I decided to record my own "take" on Dick's unique style, and so one night at 3am the attached was born.  (I'm NOT a singer, as you'll soon hear!)  The second voice was a well-known Dallas radio personality who shall remain nameless.  The very last line is a reference to a different jingle Dick had written for WIBC.  
I won't transcribe MY version, but here for reference are what Hamilton originally recorded for WOOD.  My version is the audio.
You got that?!

GUYS: Who?  What?  No, we're simple little people,  
With simple little lives.  
We like to sing the simple songs, with our simple little wives.
[GIRLS: Now wait a minute here!]
We're your kind of people, we're Champagne and apple pie.
GROUP: Relax, with WOOD. 
We tried to whip inflation, but it kicked us in the jeans.
We lavish all our dinner guests with frankfurters and beans.
[GIRLS: They don't come back again.]
What we're tryin' to tell ya, we're average folks, for all that means.
Relax, with WOOD. 
GUYS: You get more on radio, MORE ON RADIO, WOOD.
[GIRL: Somehow, that didn't sound right...]
How much wood could a woodchuck up if a woodchuck could chuck WOOD?
[GIRL: There they go again.  I don't know about you, but I'm goin' home and start dinner.  Wanna come over?  We're having beans...]"
