- The four things contained in what Allāh has decreed.
- The du’ā’ for sadness and anxiety that the Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said is imperative to learn.

 اللّهُـمَّ إِنِّي عَبْـدُكَ ابْنُ عَبْـدِكَ ابْنُ أَمَتِـكَ نَاصِيَتِي بِيَـدِكَ مَاضٍ فِيَّ حُكْمُكَ عَدْلٌ فِيَّ قَضَاؤكَ أَسْأَلُـكَ بِكُلِّ اسْمٍ هُوَ لَكَ سَمَّـيْتَ بِهِ نَفْسَكَ أِوْ أَنْزَلْتَـهُ فِي كِتَابِكَ  أَوْ عَلَّمْـتَهُ أَحَداً مِنْ خَلْقِـكَ أَوِ اسْتَـأْثَرْتَ بِهِ فِي عِلْمِ الغَيْـبِ عِنْـدَكَ أَنْ تَجْـعَلَ القُرْآنَ رَبِيـعَ قَلْبِـي وَنورَ صَـدْرِي وجَلَاءَ حُـزْنِي وذَهَابَ هَمِّـي


- The four great foundations that must be understood and implemented in order to reap the great reward mentioned in the ḥadīth:
    1. We must understand that we are slaves of Allāh.
    2. We must believe in and accept the decree of Allāh.
    3. We must believe in and understand the Beautiful Names and Perfect Attributes of Allāh.
    4. We must give importance to the Book of Allāh.

Some points discussed during this Khuṭbah:

– Ṣidq (Truthfulness): The Characteristic of a Believer and Its Opposite — Lying.

– “O you who believe! Be conscious of Allāh, and be with those who are true in words and deeds.” (Sūrat al-Tawbah 9:119)

– Truthfulness emanates from the heart and manifests on the tongue and the limbs.

– “If they had been true to Allāh, that would have been better for them.”

– It is upon you to cling to the truth, for truthfulness leads to righteousness, and righteousness leads to Paradise.

– Beware and stay away from lying, as it leads to immoral and wicked behavior, and that leads to the Fire.

– Leave that which causes you to doubt for that which does not cause you to doubt.

– Truthfulness leads to tranquility.

– This characteristic is appreciated by everyone, while lying is hated by all.

– Reflect on the reward that Allāh has prepared for the truthful believers — both men and women.

– Indeed, your Lord has forbidden immorality — both what is apparent and what is hidden — along with sins and oppressive behavior without due right, and associating partners with Allāh for which He has given no authority.

– A statement of Ibn al-Qayyim regarding the most heinous of sins.

– The severity of lying against others and its consequences.
