Some points discussed during this Khutbah:

- The things that harm the fast.
- Benefits from the ḥadīth, “Whoever does not leave off Qawl az-Zūr and acting upon it, and jahl (ignorance), then Allāh is not in need of him leaving off his food and drink.”
- The meaning of Qawl az-Zūr and the intent of ‘jahl’ in this ḥadīth.
- Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymīn (رحمه الله) on the meaning of “Allāh is not in need”.

- Benefits from the ḥadīth, “Whoever turns away from my Sunnah is not from me.”
- That which some Companions vowed to do after asking the wives of the Prophet ﷺ about his worship at home. 
- The response of the Messenger ﷺ when he was informed of what they said. 
- Ibn Taymiyyah’s (رحمه الله) definition of ‘ibādah (worship). 
- A description of the worship of the Messenger ﷺ in his home.
- The reason these Companions thought they had to exceed the worship of the Prophet ﷺ.
- The gentleness of the Messenger ﷺ in how he dealt with them.
- The religion most beloved to Allāh.
- Sticking to the limits set by the Sharī’ah and not exceeding them.
- The most beloved fast and prayer to Allāh.

- Establishing balance in how a person spends his time.
- Distinguishing between the one who has misunderstood an affair in the Sunnah and the one who deliberately opposes the truth.
- Ibn Ḥajar (رحمه الله) on the intent of ‘sunnah’ mentioned in the ḥadtih. 
- The inevitable outcome for the one who leaves the path of Allāh and His Messenger.
