DAY 1,282 - KNOW WHO YOU ARE

2 - The Wind

Walking through the open field, the youth encounters the fiercest of winds. The powerful breeze makes itself known by pushing down those in its path. But much like the wind, music is a strong force. And much like the wind, music cannot be controlled, but only accepted. Soon enough, the wind encounters the fiercest of youths. And the young force of nature moves on.

Day 2

3 - The Flower
Walking through the fields of grass, the youth comes across a rare flower among the thousands. It was amazing. A flower of which there is no other, no equal. A flower that you had to appreciate in full in order to grasp its beauty. So pretty and unique he had to claim it his own. And with the flower in hand, the young florist moved on.

Day 3

4 - The Throwback
While walking past the garden and listening to oldies, the young musician begins looking through a book of highlighted phrases. The young musician reads: "Music is life; it's our being. Much like the simple and complex aspects such as scales and chord progressions, we too are simple and complex beings of love and compassion. A song is made by involving other parts. A family is made by involving other people. I hope one day I can create a great symphony, and unite the world." The young conductor hopes to soon make camp, and moves on.

Day 4

5 - The Early Morning Walk

Waking up and trying to proceed at a quicker pace, the young musician finds himself at entrance of a forest. With mild yawns and eyes heavy, he plays his keyboard as he walks. Quite a struggle for his skill, but with practice comes perfect, he thought. Thoughts loose, legs shaking, he felt exhausted. But as long as he persevered he would reach the path he sought after. The young optimist uses his wit, and moves on.

Day 5

6 - The Fork In The Road

Three different roads. Three different decisions. Three different outcomes. Too many to count. Too many to think about. Two leading towards opposite directions. One to the far left for travelers. One to the far right for musicians. And one in the middle which no one took. One mind. One kind. One voice to be spoken. One choice to be made. The difference, while apparent, was all one and the same. How could he choose when it would all lead to the same place? He would have to overcome a different struggle for each. But with his goal in mind, he made his choice. Three roads diverged in a maplewood. And the young musician took the one less traveled by. And that made all the difference.

Day 6

7 - The Peace

Walking through the forest, the young musician came to an area bathed with the warm light of the sun. Bathed by the peace stemming from the silence and serenity of his surroundings, he stepped forward into the light. With 7 minutes to spare, he let the peace of the world surround his mind, body, and soul. As if stopping to appreciate the life he has was the ultimate therapy. After the short moment of meditation, the young peacemaker picked up his belongings and moved on.

Day 7

8 - The Medicine

As the cold from the wind was catching up on him, the young musician sought after some herbs and prepared himself a remedy. After an hour of ingesting, he started becoming disoriented and started having hallucinations. While the herbal recipe cured him, the youth regretted his decision. He realized he also would've been cured if he had fought it out instead. Grateful for the herbs, the young doctor falls asleep, tired from the side effects.

Day 8

9 - The Fisherman

Waking up the next morning, the young musician was arriving towards the outskirts of the city. Along the way, he met an old fisherman. With him, the man had a large bucket of already caught fish. The musician asked to buy some fish off of him, to which the old man replied: "You can take the fish, but is that all you want?" Puzzled, the youth inquired about what he meant. "Wouldn't you like to learn how to catch one? Surely, you can't keep buying fish from people forever. One day you'll have to use your head and find things yourself. When you're as old as me, you realize people don't give handouts. But if you try and fish hard enough you'll find yourself." And the youth sat down and began to fish with the old man, telling him all about his journey to create a symphony. The old man smiled and encouraged the youth to move forward. And with his own bucket of fish, and mind full of wisdom, the young fisherman set out for The EQ City.

Day 9

10 - The City

After arriving in EQ City, the young musician began to look for a place to stay. As he walked through the streets, he found himself surrounded by bright lights and the sounds of cars and people. He was finally back with civilization. The youth had traveled alone through the fields and forest and through this leg of his journey he had realized more than he ever could have. In his 9 days of solitude since setting out from the front doorstep, he had learned more about himself. Now his mind was clearer and more focused to conduct his symphony. And now, he was happy. The young foreigner continued to look for an inn and moved on.

Day 10

11 - The Enchantress

As the morning began, the young musician pursued the music cafe. As he walked inside, he sat down, ordered a coffee, and saw a woman reading scores. As the morning sun hit her, he could see such beauty stemming from her very being. Compelled to ask her out, he asked what score she was reading and sat down with her. The woman was hesitant at first, but came to like the young aspiring composer. He was very passionate about his music and could very well be someone who could inspire her to move forward and create something. The young musician suggested a jam session. Between his piano skills, and her violinist talent, the two could create something amazing together. This is just what the youth needed to create his symphony, an inspiration.

12 - The Rehearsal

Waking up excited to have a jam session with the girl he met at the cafe, he quickly got outside and walked towards her music studio. When he got inside, she was happy to see him, and pointed to the room in which they could play their music and create inspiration. It was apparent that the violinist knew her stuff, as she played every note articulately. The youth was ashamed to say he wasn't as good as she was, but was amazed at her virtuosity and joined her. As they played, a harmony began arising. As the day became night, the two were satisfied with all the music they made. It was the first time he had been so happy with a girl. As nervous as he was, he asked her out on a date. The girl blushed and agreed. The young stud scheduled a time with the violinist and moved on.

Day 12

13 - The Date

Under 2K bridge, the 2 had were to meet. The young musician was all dressed and ready for his date. He was astonished to see his company so stunning and beautiful. After making such an entrance, he was speechless and could only offer a flower. As she noticed, she offered a smile that brightened the night. The two spent the night sight-seeing around the violinist's hometown and attending a festival nearby. By the end, she took him to a pier, where they could see the fireworks from the festival. "I wish it could always be like this, you and I. I often find myself wandering the world alone, as if no one would notice. So sometimes I come down to this pier and I look into the water. The water is a reflection of who I am. If I didn't look at it I wouldn't know that as long as I have myself, I'll be okay. But whatever comes, goes. Like you. You've got this big dream of a symphony, I would only hold you back" The youth looked at her, smiled, and kissed her. As the night became day, the young romantic left with her and moved on.
