Over in Mexico City, there is a boy named Mauhomme. He isn’t just a musician, he is a little wizard of sound. He plays many instruments, spins records, and turns tiny noises into music that makes everyone’s feet start moving. One day, he prepared a special gift called Écrit Pour Elle, ready to be shared with the world on November 28, 2025, through Apparel Music. The story begins with the title track, a tune with a big heart, full of harmonies that grow like climbing vines, carried by a rhythm that makes your chest beat like a drum. A nod to the mid 2010s house era, slightly lo fi and rich in harmonic progressions. Then comes Burnin, where voices play like children chasing each other, sparring in rhythm to build a joyful race that keeps the energy unstoppable. At the end comes Cheesy, a warm hug of layered voices and a bassline flowing smoothly like melted chocolate. True to Mauhomme’s style, rooted in Chicago’s jackin’ tradition but coloured with jazz, funk and soul textures, the EP balances imperfection and intimacy, weaving vintage drum machines, tape hiss and electric keys into tracks that echo the basement energy of honest house music. It is music with soul, made for dancing not to look perfect, but to feel the story and the warmth inside every note.

Twenty years after its original release on Groove Junkies’ More House label, Kalakuta by Spanish producer Pepe Link and legendary saxophonist Malcolm “Molly” Duncan (founding member of the iconic Average White Band) returns with a powerful new life thanks to Kiko Navarro.

A friendship spanning more than 30 years between Pepe and Kiko already bore fruit back then — with Kiko, under his alias Ma-Yokins, producing the Dub version of Kalakuta. Two decades later, fate would bring the track back to him in the most unexpected way.

A few months ago, Kiko accidentally stumbled upon the original version of Kalakuta, which he hadn’t heard in years. Instantly inspired, he had a “vision” of how the track could sound today. He called Pepe to ask if the original session still existed. After digging through old hard drives and stacks of CD-Rs, Pepe unearthed the long-lost recordings featuring Molly’s majestic sax, Jerry’s lead vocals, and Bilonda’s backing harmonies — the raw essence of Kalakuta was alive once again.

Declared fan of Fela Kuti and deeply influenced by his Afrobeat legacy, Kiko Navarro reimagines Kalakuta through his distinctive Afro-house lens, blending organic percussion, hypnotic rhythms, and the timeless groove of Molly’s saxophone to craft a fresh, soulful tribute to a musical era that continues to inspire generations.

Deeply linked to the city of Casablanca, Abderrahman Elhafid (AKA Mr. ID) is an artist who got a lot of heart and guts. With his vinyl as tools and his personal life as inspiration, Mr. ID made a long international pilgrimage, taking in US Rap beats, Jazz spirituality and funk rhythms. Those influences became the foundation of his musical background, and served as the main body of his music creation for years. When he made it back to Morocco, he rediscovered the magic of the traditional Moroccan and African notes. Mr. ID started to implement them in his music: the beats are mixed with delicious violin airs, African percussions and vocals from a long gone age that the Atlas Mountains still bear witness to. A first in the genre that became his signature. The vibes coming out of Mr.ID’s tracks brings up a mixture made of the history and music of the whole African Continent. As if all of the African people were joining their voices to scream their IDentity.
