Assemblage 23 - The Noise Inside My Head (Dominatrix Remix)

"Onda" is something of a lazy sunshine classic; a perfect example of laidback Brazilian jazz-funk that blends a samba sensibility with distinct soul, funk and disco influences. The original single by Brazilian composer-turned-artist Genival Cassiano dos Santos, has long been an in-demand item for Disco and Balearic DJs. 

For this edit we worked with our Brazillian pals Fatnotronic adding some extra percussion, an acid line, and some new textures to the already awesome original.

It first appeared on our "Stir It Up" mixtape and Fatnotronic's Diplo & Friends BBC Radio1 mix. Soon it will see a vinyl release on Chit Chat's "Brazilian Edits" series Volume 1. Available October 2014 via Chit Chat Records.

David Manso and Whynot have joined forces to create their first track together, adding to the mix their personal taste with influences which include a mixture of styles and classics from the likes of Al Green and Barry White, Deep House and Funky, and great producers such as Claptone and Mark Ronson, to name just a few."Please get together" takes all these influences to blend  a sample from the 70's with a Deep House drum, a Rhodes setting the tempo and a heavy bass line.

This is an edit of the mashup I made for Berlin Nightclub Chicago's New Order/Depeche Mode Multimedia Mixdown. I performed live vocoder over the extended version onstage with DJ Greg Haus.

DJ and producer K Alexi is one of Chicago's true heroes and cited by many as a pioneer the city's sound. At a young age of 12 K was already moving in the right circles befriending worldwide legends like Frankie Knuckles and Ron Hardy whilst frequenting the famous Warehouse.

K's upbringing in Chicago in the 70's and 80's meant he was exposed to a range of genres and different styles of music including Stevie Wonder Prince Curtis Mayfield and David Huff - these same names would prove to be the roots of influence. K's first pressing 'Essence of a Dream' is still regarded a classic today.

A tally of successful hit records remixing and collaborating with other artists resulted in his talents being sought by a diverse range of artists like The Pet Shop Boys ,Dj Deep ,Derrick May Angel Abi, D- ROLAND ,Paul Johnson ,Dj Gregory ,Kenny Dope ,Mr Lee (who produces for R Kelly) Gene Hunt ,ROLANDO, Maurice Joshua ,MARSHALL JEFFERSON ,Marc Romboy ,Mark Grant ,Larry Heard & Robert Owens, TjenTjen, Dave Angel Felix Da Housecat and Will Smith.Ect

Just as notorious for his DJing ability Mr K 'Alexi has played at just about every exotic location imaginable as well as in the UK his smooth blend of house disco and TecSoul that is also the name of his label "TecSoul"
