We have a special mix and the last one from 2022, we invited the Italian Dj/Producer Speaking Minds, such a great guy and super involved on his passion inside of Electronic music. @speaking_minds

Speaking Minds is the musical project of Italian DJ/Producer Simone Sinatti, active in the international music circuit from almost a decade and part of circolocoibiza crew where he’s responsible for the Circoloco Radio programming. Resident DJ of the infamous Florence party Lattexplus, flagship of Italian clubbing, he also manages the successful label AEON as A&R together with founder Alex Niggemann. Being in the game for quite a while, in the last years things seemed to be shaping up nicely for him: some highlights of his recent years have been his gigs at Circoloco, ADE, Extrema Outdoor, Village Underground, Oasis Festival, Watergate, Cocorico and Off Sonar to name a few, sharing also the decks with some of the most respected djs of the globe including Laurent Garnier, Seth Troxler, Ben Ufo, Bedouin, Gerd Janson, Job Jobse, Palms Trax, Bambounou, FJAAK, Recondite, Pantha Du Prince, Miss Kittin and Marcellus Pittman.

His music has been regularly supported by the likes of Laurent Garnier, Dixon, Ame, Job Jobse, Jennifer Cardini and Mano Le Tough among others. With quite a few releases on AEON and My Favorite Robot Records, 2019 opened new doors for Speaking Minds: after his ‘Jupiter Express’ released on Correspondant, he followed up with “Blue Days”, track included on WhoMadeWho’s compilation for Watergate Records. Year continued with his return to mother label AEON with an EP accompanied with remixes by Fort Romeau and Moscoman, premiered via BBC1 Radio and gaining huge support all over the world. After COVID’s break, 2021 sees Speaking Minds releasing an official remix for Telepopmusik's classic track "Breathe" on Virgin Records and his biggest discographic accomplishment so far: a track on brand new Laurent Garnier's label Cod3 QR.

"I did the mix especially for Toi Toi and wanted it to embody many styles of legendary aspects of our electronic club-culture whilst still rocking the boat a little.
I am your toy.

Magical timing too, two hours after I finished this mix, I thought to myself: "perhaps to play Tony halfway in this mix is a nice idea"....but then an hour later Isis texts me the legend came to pass, so this coincidence makes even more sense."

My dearest San Proper! 

My close friendship and musical connection with San Proper goes back many many years. 
San is someone that is an avid reader of books in the most varied of subjects, especially music history, therefore words, poetry and writing in general are very powerful tools in this artist's personality. With that said, I can't go without writing about him from a personal perspective, as it is also in line with the design of this mix series. 

Too many amazing memories to list but here are some:  

Maybe around 2010 when he was scheduled to play live at fabric and the airline lost his luggage. It was late and I was trying to help source the gear that was missing, he messages and goes: rather than live on uncertainty I am going to work the live with what I have. It was a very limited set up, I remember walking in to Room 1 at the start of his live set then reading on the stage desk: 'FUCK YOU LUFTHANSA!'
THIS is Dr. Proper. Even with a such a limited set up he absolutely rocked this room in the best way possible. 

Other remarkable memories is that San always joined afterparties in my loft in London and he always carries a field recorder on him. Outside my house in Dalston with me and the adorable Masomenos couple, Adrian and Joan, and on the way to Kristina Records San was filed recording the sounds of the cars in Kingsland Road, hence the now widely known 'Auto Sea' track out in 2013, also part of his Animal album. 

San Proper branches the realms of artistry beyond borders, it includes being a musician, producer, dj, record and books collector, a performer, an entertainer,  an enigmatic character with a heart of gold even though the animal persona attempts to hide that, hehe.

Toi Toi Mix Series 29 by San Proper

Who would have thought that 7 years from the first time he stepped into his first Toi Toi we would be having him as a guest for the mix series, welcome Nicky.  

Nicky's first party was Toi Toi's 3 years birthday where I had Craig Richards, Zip and Ben UFO all as secret guests. Quite a historical event. Watching this youngster's journey from then until now, one can only feel proud, his patience, care and dedication / hard work. 

Possessed with the biggest charisma, Nicky is a true and honest person, features that truly and directly reflect on him as an artist and the respect towards his craft, what you see is what you get, no faking, no pretending. His residency at the Lion & Lamb with the Outransa parties are evident to that, they have a nice community, a true pool of followers, just doing their thing, as it should be. 

Nicky reinstates my hope in the world of 'emerging new talents', most think that Djing starts or finishes on the decks and it is way beyond that too. 

The result for this series, an extremely elegant and carefully crafted set, thank you Nicky.

Toi Toi Mix Series 30 by Nicky Macha

El nombre Koolt está asociado a un GRAN Dj, consolidado hace ya varios años en la escena electrónica de Uruguay como lo es Eduardo Cardozo aka Dj Koolt.

Pero como todo gran Dj, Edu es un conocedor absoluto de la música de baile (incluso no-bailable también), que habiendo vivido su adolescencia en la década de los ochentas, se vio inevitablemente impregnado en su alma por el sonido disco, funk y pop.
De allí es de donde nace Mr Koolt, un proyecto alternativo si se quiere a la faceta Dj Koolt, en el que la exquisita técnica y años manejando pistas de baile, se vuelcan en sets cargados al máximo de GROOVE, tintes 80´s y 90´s, funk y rarezas, donde difícilmente te den ganas de estar sentado sin bailar…
