Some muso friends of mine had enquired when  was I gonna do a "guitar track" or at least one with the main instrument as the guitar, so here's one I prepared earlier!

I had the riff kicking around for some time and decided to build  the track  around the riff, kind of 21st century rock and roll!

Hence the title "DNA". The guitar riff is the DNA of the track, its that simple, I hope you enjoy!

In late July 2013, I had some work in Edinburgh over a long weekend, just before the fringe festival. 

The whole vibe reminded me of central London in 1990-infamous summer of madchester, the last indy warehouse parties-in otherwords just before everything went mainstream.

The song without bagpipes represents the vibe of Edinburgh by night, I hope you enjoy!

Edinburgh By Night

Inspired by dialogue from the movie Jackie Brown (I think the best Tarantino movie made to date) I started to play guitar. The main riff or recurring theme if you listen to opera fell out of my guitar, from there I started to build the track.

If you listen to the non Si-fi dialogue you will understand why the song is called Guilty, My thanks to: Bob, Bill and Sam for the use of their voices. The guitar is not rock and roll or blues, but the chord progression is! 

Add to this a very dance/trance drum and you get a very different animal, I hope you enjoy!

The sad thing in life is we don't always have all the time in the world, a beautiful song sound track that I just had to cover, again with a modern twist.

Again a killer bass line and melody made me want to record this, I hope the late great mr Barry is at ease with this version. Again with a modern twist.

In my opinion one of the best bond films ever and another one with a great score which I simply had to do. Again with a twist which does not dismantle the original.

A dance tune with a Dr Who? Anything is possible and remember stay in the light.

An old tune which I felt deserved a modern make over. Design after dark.

Tomorrow never knows 21 century style

Well, along time ago in different galaxy and frankly a different life, I played in bands and recorded music, the process was different then. Music had to be played and recored in nuclear fallout shelters with no natural light even home demo's were a complex procedure.

Now with a certain computer and related software(s),  ideas and playing isnt restricted anymore and thats the point of this, new original tunes in a variety of styles are mixed with my odd taste in tv or film soundtracks, with a twist of course, shaken and not stired. I hope you enjoy listening as much as I enjoy making them and if your moved enough do send me an email and keep droping by new music will be uploaded as and when so do keep an eye out.
