Five Miles to Dawn

A simple sequence, running through two different delays, each creating a different repeat pattern. The result actually ends up being 11/8 (count 3x 3 beats and then 2 beats). Synth and sequencer created in Cherry Audio's Voltage Modular. Recorded and mixed in Presonus Studio One Pro.

Crystal Waltz

Harris is a robot, built to look and act like a ten year old boy. He knows he's not real, but he still wants to grow up, raise children, and have a happy life.
War has broken out in Europe. A devastating conflict that could easily escalate into a nuclear battle if it isn't stopped. Fortunately, a peace treaty has been negotiated. Unfortunately, global weapons manufacturers have a plan to stop the negotiations and ensure that the war (and their profits) continue. They've built Harris, an android with a skeleton made of high explosives. Their plan is to have Harris masquerade as the child of a diplomat at the embassy party where the treaty will be finalized. Harris will explode, killing many of the diplomats, ending the treaty signing, and setting all the nations back at each other's throats.
In the end, Harris decides to go against his programming and walk away from the party. He knows he will still explode, but he refuses to harm anyone else. He will never grow up or have a family, but he knows he has saved the world from a potential armageddon. Version 2023-09-01a.

Electric Harris

After the events of "Forbidden Planet," we're leaving Altair IV and watching it wink out of existence. This tune sounds less 'alien' and dissonant than the Krell music during the central part of the story. The Krell and their planet are gone, and we're headed back to Earth. Created and mixed in Presonus Studio One. Synths are mostly Voltage Modular (Cherry Audio) and Analog Lab V (Arturia). If anyone ever does a remake of the film, I'd be down to do the soundtrack. ;)

A polyrhythm experiment. Bounce has a syncopated 4/4 on the drums, a 5/4 melody, and a eighth note feel bass line. :)

FEELS LIKE THREE

Inspired by Emerson, Lake & Palmer's "Tarkus," I wanted to do something with a similar feel, but in 7/4, and with a more orchestral sound. I'm no Keith Emerson (or Greg Lake or Carl Palmer), but they have definitely influenced me. Hope you dig it. :)
