1. Why did you specifically remix this song?

I grew up with hip hop and RnB and it has been my first and forever musical love. Poison was a song that consistently got great crowd reactions when spinning, so I thought why not give it a new modern spin. I wanted to bring that warm feeling from the original and give it a drop that smacked listeners in the ears. So what you have here is exactly that!

2. What got you into producing?

Music has been a part of my life from the moment I could start remembering things. I played multiple instruments growing up and always played in bands. From the moment I heard electronic music I knew that I wanted to produce it as it was the obvious and most easily approachable musical step.

3. Who are some up and coming producers that you have your eye on?

Arnold and Lane, Adrian Hex, Westend, Aylen, Ocean Roulette, Morelia, Roy Havens, Clem Lee, Sammy Legs, TCHilT, Das Kapital and Niqw. All these guys have come out of the woodwork in the past year or two and are pushing the boundaries of house music. MUST WATCH.

4. Drop some wisdom, any advice to the up and coming producers?

The biggest thing I can recommend is to not worry about staying in a genre lane. Make what sounds good to you and it will fall into place. While I have been in the booty and tech house genre spaces, I continually make things that don’t fit in those genres and it makes me think of things differently than I normally would.

Also, be respectful. This industry is just as much about personality as it is about the music. I hope that helps.

Since a very young age, Mr. Odd has been involved in making music. Starting in second grade when he was given his first acoustic guitar, he never stopped. During his elementary and middle school years, he learned to play guitar, piano and saxophone. He played in the school marching and concert band all the way through his senior year. While in high school, he was constantly creating music, from metal to reggae to hip hop. After getting FL Studio from a friend in 2006, he started making electronic music and immediately fell in love with it. During his senior year, he got his first pair of decks and immediately began mixing all styles of EDM, while incorporating samples of many different genres. He now has multiple releases on Nuphonic Rhythm, Crush Works records, and Gurl Tok Records and has performed at countless events throughout California.
