The second twelve-inch will be release in a picture sleeve that will be able to hold all three records. Recently, Mr Raoul K started to add some kind of soundtrackesque touch to his tracks. On this release, this development is represented by ‘Intelligent Revolution’ - an epic thirteen minute plus rollercoaster ride of a track without any dominant kickdrum. Traditional African instruments fuel an irresistible groove that keeps pulling you in and in. Don’t take anything for granted and stay alert. That is what the Peul-Flute melody keeps saying over and over - never losing its groove or its grip and keeping on pushing. On the flipside, veteran producer Ron Trent flexes his remix muscle on ‘Sene Kela’ and applies his trademark warm deephouse sound to this vocal driven track. The catchy vocal is accompanied by a very lively baseline and some strings to keep the dancers’ feet moving. Up next is Simbads treatment of Dounougnan Magni (Chapitre 3) - a track that features Kuniyuki Takahashi on piano and Sossoba Keita on vocals. The remix pushes this already dynamic track even further and heads toward a climax that melts European and African soundscapes into an outburst of pure dancefloor magic. Enjoy.

It is delivered in a picture sleeve that will hold all three records and will also look very good on your record shelf. Musicwise, the first side features all three chapters of ‘Dounougnan Magni’ stretched over almost eighteen minutes. Pure afrofunk bliss with beautiful keyboards played by Kuniyuki Takahashi. The track also features the vocal talents of Hamed Sosso who accompanies the listener throughout his journey. An emotional trip, starting in hot desert plain and ending on cloudy hilltops. The line ‘En ye bori la dounougnou ko, saya la en ko’ means: ‘We are chasing the good life but death is chasing us’. There is nothing we can do in life that prevents us from being outrun in the end. The flipside opens with the Mr Raoul K & Laolu Version of ‘Sene Kela’. A summery groover with a prominent Balafon melody, a driving bassline and beautiful vocals by Sona Diabate. Reminds the listener of sundrenched landscapes or terraces without being too relaxed to dance to it. The record closes with two parts of ‘Enchained Tribe’ - a track inspired by war dances of the Massai tribe. It shows a rolling groove with dominating percussion led by the sound of the ‘Water Kalebasse’ - a dried pumpkin filled with water. As soon as the flutes kick in, it’s all about letting yourself loose and get lost in the groove. Enjoy.

Please remember: The last twelve inch came in a neat sleeve that easily stores all three records in it. The first side contains Kuniyuki Takashi’s remix of ‘ Dounougnan Magni’. He enriches the track with lively percussion and softens the somewhat sparse and minimalistic style of the original. A perfect backing for Hamed Sosso’s story about live,death and the pursuit of happiness. The flipside contains the last chapter of the epic ‘Enchained Tribe’. A deep glowing track with a haunting vocal and progressing drums that literally break free in the middle. Kuniyuki Takashi’s flute provides additional athmosphere and keeps the track moving into a lush (and almost beatless) outro. Next is ‘Break Your Chains And Return To Botswana’. Eight and a half minute of slow paced african percussion - and an accompanying chant that fades in and out of the mix.It’s all about beats, beats, beats - Mr Raoul K’s talent in arrangement and beat programming is very much on display and delivers a real groover without any bassline, Makes you shake your… whatever you want to shake.  It is very crucial point in my life where appreciation exceeds any of my expectations. We started this work with Kaito in Paris while our Concrete gig. We had very little time but managed to draft first sketches, and then it was all about trance-continental endeavours made on a distance between Europe and Japan. A Mr Raoul K & Rancido Tamale Feat. Sona Dia

This time Mr Raoul K is teaming up with fellow producer Mapiko Mweya. They shift Mr Raoul K's usually blend of real westafrican instruments and modern electronic clubsounds towards the electronic soundscape. With the vocals of B'Utiza, they take us on a rollercoaster ride into an urban concrete jungle very reminiscent of the nineteennineties. Voluminous baselines, westafrican drums, irie layers of swirling sounds, long buildups, occasional breakdowns – delivered with a gritty touch.
Mr Raoul K's mix keeps the atmosphere dense while Mapiko goes for a more airy approach - with either mix keeping its rolling groove up until the end. Dance through the darkness until the sunlight creeps through the cellar windows.

Biography:
Being a refuge from the Ivory Coast, he traveled to Germany in ’92 where he made Hamburg, a city in the northern parts of the country, his new residence. His biggest dream was to become a professional soccer player and he even made it to the professional level in Germany, but after a serious knee injury he was forced to stop playing soccer. 

It was in Hamburg where he first got in touch with the aesthetic vibe of house & techno music that was played at the local clubs, after which he was immediately sold: these nightly experiences resulted in a surprising change in his future career. In 1999 he moved to Lubeck, where he during the day would work long hours as a carpenter and developed and refined his musical skills at night. After years of taking double shifts and setting aside every hard earned penny, he finally had enough money to build his own studio. Mr. Raoul K., a true perfectionist, was ready to share his productions with the world.

His exotic productions from the Ivory Coast ensured that his current home base and other cities in Germany welcomed him with open arms. His productions are characterized by a combination of traditional African instruments, ranging from the Cora to the Balafon, with the industrial sound he found in the clubs.  

Part from being a talented producer, Raoul also is an exceptional DJ. Being a vinyl lover, he regularly still spends days in the local records stores, looking for that one 12” that can make the difference during his sets. He accommodates his own music at the Baobab Music label (founded in 2007), his own brainchild. The label is named after the ancient African tree, which according to the myth is being inhabited by the wisest of monkeys. Through his label, gems like “Le Cercle Peul” were released, which received critical acclaim from prominent critics and respected producers like Jerome Sydenham, Josh Deep and Henrik Schwarz. In 2009 he set up the Baobab Secret label in order to put out tracks that do not fit the output schedule of Baobab Music. All of his hard work is paying off and earned him gigs at the world famous Panoramabar (Berlin), Rex Club (Paris) and a set in the legendary Boilerroom. Nowadays Raoul created a firm, still growing fan base all around the world, from Germany to Japan.
