Tip top night at Band on the Wall in Manchester, to celebrate 15 years of my Manchester 'Keep It Unreal' residency. MC Kwasi was down on a night out, but couldn't resist a little mic session. Since April, this night has been a 'Non-Mobile Disco'.. no mobiles on the dance floor. Really helped the atmosphere, and we will carry on with this approach from now on. Going through some of our old external harddisks dug up in our studio basement annex wine cellar we came across this almost a decade (!) old Kraak & Smaak mixtape, inspired by the likes of Madlib and J Dilla. 
A blend of weird samples, lost and found grooves, it also features long lost Plastic People album demo’s – some of which made it on there eventually (spot ‘m if you can!) and some, well, didn’t.

Remembering the fact that we had good fun making this but never really did anything public with it, we thought it would be cool to share this with you after almost 10 years later after all.

So enjoy and be sure and listen from the top for maximum pleasure!

On the Saturday night of this year's Bestival the legendary Mr Scruff played a 4-hour set of Funk, Soul and Disco gems to a rammed Staceys.
The room was effectively a perfect Disco - a beautifully tuned soundsystem, plenty of mirror-balls and a 'Soul Train'-esq decor.
