This song was inspired by an estranged friend leaving the pacific northwest and moving back to southeastern Louisiana where we were both from.

After playing in the rock band Jodi Hates the World for 10 years, it all ended in Oakland, CA on September 27th of 2007 when our van and all of our equipment were stolen after playing a show in town while on tour. I thought we'd endure and carry on when I wrote this, but the song even seems to foreshadow the painful process of bitter endings and new beginnings.
