Love Disaster

These are the rough mixes of a session The Doom Buggies did a couple of years ago at Q Division Studios in Somerville, MA. They are probably going to be the last Doom Buggies recordings. It was awesomely engineered by Rafi Sofer. We managed to get quite a bit done in about a day and a half, but did not have time to do the final mixes. We had hoped to get back and do more thorough final mixes but financial realities dictated otherwise. However; we all like the rough mixes so much that we would rather let people hear them than let them languish in oblivion. We never thought we would get to record these songs at all so the fact that we were able to do it and have some friends play on them was great. Thanks to Rafi Sofer and Ed Valauskas at Q Division for being so cool to us and Charles Hansen for the snazzy guitar solos.

A song I wrote for my brother's wedding and later we recorded it with Pop Gun, just before I left the band. This version is a different mix than was released on the record and has a nice solo by Jim Melanson.

Love And Wine (Pop Gun - Full band alternate mix)

This was a finger-tapping exercise I used to do that matched up pretty well with a riff that I guy I used to play with had. It was turning into an interesting song just when the band fizzled. I took it home and applied a cheesy dance beat and called it "Swells." Later, I added a monophonic synth ending using a $10 Univox MiniKorg that I got at the Flea market. I played it through a wah pedal and it sounded cool so I added a few variations of the finger-tapping bits and some other guitar layers. This extended the song a bunch, making it "Extra Swollen."
