most of this album was made in the early days of my switch from fastracker to renoise.  i was in heaven at the time cause fasttracker had always had so many limitaions (no fx, no synths, basically nothing but a dope sampler) and all of a sudden i had vst synths and fx all in the same fasttracker style enviroment.  anyways i dont really have much to say about this one so enjoy :)

01 - a flair for technique

the sound in the beginning of the song is my girlfriend at the time playing a guitar near an open window with the rain outside.  oh and i think i'm opening a can of chips or something too haha.  anyways the point is that all the melodic stuff through the whole track is that original sample being played through a shitload of fx.  

shout outs to destroy fx, bram, and the whole smartelectronix crew who were just absolutely killing it back then with the crazy fun fx plugins almost all for free or donationware.  this is actually reminding me that i need to go find if they work with the current shit i use and redownload them!  lol 

03 - rainy guitar

ahhh...  this one.... it starts out with so much promise and then it goes on and on and on....lol  i never actually sequenced this one out, so what we have here is me turning all the the tracks on and off in renoise "live" to create the arrangement.  if i remember correctly this session had so many tracks that my computer couldnt handle them all playing at once, hence the crackling that happens a few times throughout the track when i turn too many on.  anyways i dont blame you if you dont get through all 9 minutes, but at least the first 5 minutes or so are dope!  enjoy :)

this is probably my favorite drum-n-bass-ish track i've ever made.  the rhodes samples are all from my real rhodes.  i know the beginning is mad dark...dont let it throw you off... this one is worth the listen all the way through...

this one was done in fasttracker, and it's also a collaboration between me and cinema stereo.  as i remember it she put together most of the melodic sounds while i was in class, and when i got home i did the rhythm and arrangement...maybe she can chime in if she remembers anything else....damn that was more than 10 years ago...crazy!

man i just listened to it again and i so wish that there was a sweet bassline that came in halfway through...

back when i first started sharing my music with others i used to make tapes and put poison control stickers on them as the artwork.  

i'm gonna use this page to share some really old stuff i did back in the day that never saw the light of day that some people might enjoy.  some electronic music.  some drum-n-bass.  some of my early hip hop experiments.  all sorts of shit basically.

everything you hear on this page was made with tracker programs.  some with fasttracker, and others with renoise.  i use DP now but i always will have love in my heart for the tracker interface.  i've produced whole albums in both of those programs and even had music in films and on tv shows that i did in trackers.  its a very powerful way of making music and it totally influenced my sound for a good portion of my music making career.
