"Bright Eyes" was written by Mike Batt, and first recorded by Art Garfunkel. It was used in the soundtrack of the 1978 film Watership Down and as such is considered the theme song of the film and the later television series adaptations. The track also appears on Garfunkel's fourth studio album, Fate for Breakfast from 1979. It was the biggest selling single of 1979 in the UK.

"Got Your Money" was a single by American hip-hop artist Ol' Dirty Bastard featuring Kelis, taken from his second full length LP.

Both the single and the album were released on Elektra Records in 1999.

The song was produced by The Neptunes.

'Thriller' is originally from 'Thriller', the sixth studio album by American recording artist Michael Jackson.

The original was a b-side to Smiths' single 'Bigmouth Strikes Again', the song paraphrases the chorus of Sandie Shaw's 'Message Understood'. 

In the space between the run-out groove of this b-side the words "TALENT BORROWS, GENIUS STEALS" are etched into the vinyl.

'Unloveable' was described by Simon Goddard in his book ' The Songs That Saved Your Life' as "a lesser entry in the Morrissey and Marr repertoire".

"The Power of Love" is the third single from Frankie Goes to Hollywood, released in November 1984. It is taken from the album Welcome to the Pleasuredome. The track was first featured during the John Peel Sessions the band performed on during 1983, which was slower and emphasized the track's original camp ironic content (such as the Hooded Claw from the cartoon series, The Perils of Penelope Pitstop).

"O Superman (For Massenet)" is a 1981 song by experimental performance artist and musician Laurie Anderson. Part of the larger work United States, "O Superman", a half-sung, half-spoken, almost minimalist piece unexpectedly rose to #2 on the UK Singles Charts in 1981. 

As revealed in the documentary "John Peel's Record Box" the single was a particular favourite of the late DJ, whose championing of it lead to it being a hit in the UK.

"Stay Another Day" is an award-winning 1994 pop song recorded by British boy band East 17. It was released in late 1994 and became their first and only UK number-one single reaching Christmas number one, and also topped the charts in Sweden, Ireland and Denmark.

"Walking in the Air" is a song written by Howard Blake for the 1982 animated film of Raymond Briggs' 1978 children's book The Snowman. In the film the song was performed by St Paul's Cathedral choirboy Peter Auty. For the subsequent single release, which reached number five in the UK pop charts in 1985, the vocals were sung by Welsh chorister Aled Jones, who became a popular celebrity on the strength of his performance. Jones' version was not an official The Snowman tie-in though it was authorised by Howard Blake. "Walking in the Air" has subsequently been covered by several different artists, in a variety of styles including the one you're listening to right now..

"Fairytale of New York" is a song by the Irish rock group The Pogues, released in 1987 and featuring the British singer Kirsty MacColl. The song is an Irish folk style ballad, written by Jem Finer and Shane MacGowan, and featured on The Pogues' album If I Should Fall from Grace with God. The song features string arrangements by Fiachra Trench. It is frequently cited as the best Christmas song of all time in various television, radio and magazine related polls in Ireland and the UK.

"Happy Xmas (War Is Over)" is a song written by John Lennon and Yoko Ono and released in 1971 as a single by John & Yoko/Plastic Ono Band with the Harlem Community Choir.

The song reached number 4 on the UK Singles Chart (where release was delayed until 1972). Ostensibly a protest song about the Vietnam War, it has become a Christmas standard, appearing on several Christmas albums. The song was re-released in the UK on 20 December 1980, shortly after John Lennon's murder on 8 December, and peaked at number 2 in the chart battle for the Christmas number one.
